This being a rural fixture being played at Kalgoorlie. With the normal start time for the League fixture.
And no media coverage of this match

Usually the ABC do the country games but are not doing this game for whatever reason I don't know. Bloody annoyed as I was hoping it would be a TV game and Perth might have opened up the bar for those that weren't going to Kalgoorlie.

No Radio Coverage either? That is rubbish if true

TBH and IMO country game are a waste of time.
Clubs and players should vist there zones throughout the year in the byes.

Its probably too costly to get radio and TV coverage in the country besides why would you torture the viewer out there by making them watch Perth on TV??
There are better games on this weekend in the metro area than this game.

I heard a whole bunch of supporters are catching the train up for the game and staying overnight. Any OZfooty people going up?

While I disagree with your comments on the country game 30plus I agree that WAFL players need more of a presence in the local community. Especially with the young kids. Children these days hardly know who their local team is let alone any player that plays at that club. It is these kids that will hopefully be there in 30 years supporting their clubs and not us unfortunately.

Mr AFL,Games are not played often enough in 1 particular country town for it to have an impact on kids,imo.
Rightly or wrongly most of these kids teams are either Freo or the Eagles and 1 country game there every 5 or so years isnt enough to change that.

They see more of there team on the ABC when there side is broadcast.

It would imo have more impact on kids if players coaches etc visited country towns in the byes for clinics etc....with staff numbers split clubs could vist 6 or more country towns per year during the byes.

Do the wafl clubs get compensated by the WAFC for losing out on gate takings,bar takings,food,raffles etc...if it was there home game?(i dont know the answer)

That have to get something but it wouldn't be as much as what they would get if they were at home you would think. Being Subiaco's home game I'm sure they'll make the profits back at the bar for the West Coast v Gold Coast game
