What a bonus having Horsley back so soon. If he is even only half as good as he was for us in 2011, he will make a huge difference to our season.

We really need to get the ball into our forwards more often. South had more of the footy than us last week but our forwards made the most of their opportunities. DeLuca, Boland, Yarran, Delahunty, Waters and co. up in front of the sticks is exciting.

Some good inclusions in the colts list this week also with Michael Braut, Abraham Kennedy, Max Walters and tall ruckman Ashton Williamson all named in the preliminary squad. All very promising players. They should make a difference.

Horsely first up on a country track?....mmmmm interesting approach, but hey the guy is all class, so I can see Subi's thinking.....both sides look pretty good, hopefully will be a cracking affair. Think EF may have the edge thru the midfield especially if Horsely is a wee bit rusty, though Subi will stretch EF height wise.....hey most teams this year will stretch EF this season in that department I reckon :lol: .....

LH....I think EF colts is a bit younger compared to previous years, thus Subi should have the edge, especially with fella's like McAlister, Grace, Wilkinson and Clark on the park for Subi. Out of interest mate, I know you guys lost last week, but do you fancy your chances this year for a flag tilt?....or are SF still that bit too good, they do seem capable of churning out newbies every year, who are more than competitive, irrespective of age.

From a u/18 perpsective....who would be contenders from Subi?....Clark, Grace, Wilkinson,Burnett.....any others?.....from EF perspective can really only think of Jack Cripps and perhaps Fraser Perry or Callum Ellis.....all the rest like Bennett, Black, Patat and Parish are all a year too young I reckon.

When I saw our colts squad finalised I thought, yeah, we can give South and Claremont a shake this year but I guess I need to re-think after last week. Believe it or not we were leading at half-time and fell away that badly. I hope we can do better next time against them. South are incredible though....Ah Chee, Ah Siu, Pickett, Loersch..the list goes on.

I think from memory in that initial 18's squad they announced recently that we had four in so far and they were Max Walters, Greg Clark, Josh DeLuca and Cody Grace.

When they add to the squad - maybe - Aaron Summers might come into contention. I reckon he's the type of player that an AFL club might look at. But he's also in the WA U/19 cricket squad so not sure which he will decide on. I know he reads this site, so he might tell us..lol

Apart from him and the fellas you mentioned, maybe young Abe Kennedy is one who might sneak in if he goes alright. He's of African heritage and plays in the midfield - quite tall. First game back tomorrow. Played 3 games late last year after the NAB 16's.

Should be a close game. Saw that young Perry in the scratch match. He really stands out.

Very surprised if Horse gets a run in the league, no lead up games that I'm aware of and country grounds are notorious for being very firm. I'd be conservative and run him in the 2's next week then the league the week after. When fit he's clearly the best player at the club and top 5 in the league so we should take no chances.

Great to see young Kennedy pulled up ok after limping off last week, like his "no prisoners" approach. If we are to make finals and have an impact we need a few more hard nosed players to go with the quality that's come in this year.

I expect we are the TV game being in the country, if not it's a disgrace, especially if they broadcast another AFL reserves team.
