Will look alot better when the likes of Horsley & McDougall come in.

Well done mate, good first up win !

Agree with all of what you posted.

Got to apologise to Boland. Not that I said anything on here. But after the WP scratchie I left thinking, please that be his worst form and not his usual form and yesterday he showed he can really play.

Chris Phelan - totally different player this year. Added some bash and crash to his game.

Hayden Kennedy - wrapped with his debut straight out of colts. Gutted that he seemed to tear a hammy late.

Anyway, terrific effort against the odds. Here is the old traditional supporters/club/media votes. Might as well keep it going for the 8th year or whatever it is.
Wayde Twomey 1 21
Lachlan Delahunty 1 21
Rhys Waters 1 18
Chris Phelan 1 16
Matt Boland 1 11
Shaun Hildebrandt 1 5
Hayden Kennedy 1 4
Frank Stockley 1 2
Jason Bristow 1 2
Darren Rumble 1 2
Dylan Elliott 1 1
George Hampson 1 1
Clancy Wheeler 1 1
Chris DeLuca 1 -
Jarrod Kayler-Thomson 1 -
Brett Mahoney 1 -
Abe Davey 1 -
Justin Joyce 1 -
Shane Yarran 1 -
Josh DeLuca 1 -
Simon Moore 1 -
Joel Latham 1 -

Saw him trying to stretch out like he was cramping just before he came off, so hope it is only bad cramp.

Yep thanks for those two Leedy - They both played well.

Subi always looked in control except for the 1st quarter I thought ?
South got heaps of the ball but Subi ran them down applying pressure which stuffed their disposal.

The 1st half I think the Dogs got the better of us out of the guts but our backs worked well together to rebound.
Subi's forwards were more optioned and spread and took more marks i would think ?

For South Hams was best and numbers 1 and 2 but I liked the look of big number 11 and 19 did some great work along with 25.

For Subi Phelan had it on a string, Rumba and Twommey marshalled the backs with Twommey reading the ball brilliantly. I liked Hildas 1st game back but some of his kicks were crap. Forward options and pressure was terrific with Yarren and Leedy's 2x men and Waters plus the pressure of Deluca. I liked Yarrans snap and Hampsons crumbing goal - It's the 1st time we've looked like having a forward line for a while !!! The best part of the game for me was the games of the young fellas like Deluca (both) Waters,Elliot etc etc plus I thought all the recruits did their job.

I'm not getting carried away as south and subi I thought are both average but happy with the points as i tipped South.

Going to Gerro with the Sharks - Let's see where we're at after next week ???

Well done Subi.

Yes those two were good lil weeeeed, especially Delahunty, very mobile big man who shared the ruck duties with another one of your boys Stockley. Will be a handy problem we have when McDougall is back in a few weeks. Yes our backs surprised me, but having Twomey down there in place of the listed Symonds was a bonus plus Rumble completely shut out Saunders & Elliot was really good, i like the look of him. The midfield pressure we applied also made things a lot easier for our backs, just need to be consistent with that but like you said it will be a mental thing on the day between all clubs this year, not switched on you will pay...

Good win but obviously hard to guage as Souths were ordinary, but good pressure and hit up targets well especially after halftime.

Stockley is an excellent get, big mobile and aggressive, nice kick and mark as well, Delahunty & Boland both great pick-ups and we know Twomey is all class.

Yarran looks full of potential, it didn't all come off for him but he still bagged 3, not afraid to try something different, give him 4 or 5 games at this level and he's going to be a real handful for opposition backs.

Best game I've seen Phelan play and about time, he's got all the attributes to be a top line player if he can do that consistently, great disposal, one of the best in the league and showed some physicality for a change.

Lots to like about the boys last Saturday but next week will tell a tale as the Gummies are definite finalists imho.

I don't watch all that much AFL and the first time seeing Hams play live and I can now see what all the comment was about with the way he sucks in the umps for high tackles, consistently bending at the knees, very clever, but time for the umps to recognise it as similar to ducking or diving, to our guys credit they adjusted their tackling after halftime

Our on-ballers will struggle big time against the Sharks. EF will have one of the best groups going through the middle this year. Our forwards will test them but we won't get it down there as much as we did against the Dogs. Our backs held up well but it's only one game and the Sharks will be another test.

Looking forward to the trip up to Gerro to watch the Lions - Just hope we give it a crack ???
