I think the time has come for a national summit to be called by the major stakeholders of leagues such as the WAFL and SANFL with the AFL to discuss the future of such leagues and grassroots footy.It is not enough by the AFL to name one round of each season to Grassroots footy and then say they have done their bit.Clubs are struggling big time moneywise while at the top end of town the system can support the payment of some 10 million dollars to a player such as Franklin.This is assign of a system in decay with its priorities completely out of balance.I therefore call on people such as the presidents of each of the 7 non aligned clubs to meet with the AFL and for everyone to put their cards on the table before the whole pack of cards comes crumbling down.

Would be great if tha AFL cared about the game as a whole mudlark but it seems to be the "owner" of the game (Demetriou) is only interested in $$$ and tv rating$. His pay packet is larger than the pay packets of every single wafl player combined.
