Given the fact Subiaco pre-game were sitting on approx 1 $ 35c for the win, it would have been frustratingly unbelievable had they lost! They were consistent all afternoon with 3 goals in Q1, 5 goals in the second quarter and 4 goals in the third and final quarters. Good to see Subi run themselves into some form before going on the road to take on East Fremantle next week.

Was crook so didn't make it to the match, but managed to watch the Tv coverage from late in the second qtr. Thought Robbo was very good, his pace, elusiveness and defensive skills were outstanding and a couple of goals in the wet to top it off. The Hicks and Clark were dominant all day and also hit the scoreboard, Wagontrains is certainly worth persisting with, we dont have anyone else at the club with his height and reach and he's improving with each outing, also allows us to use Eaton as more of a tall swing man to fill in in the ruck or key position. We were moving the ball better and actually hitting up targets which has been missing for most of this season. Really like the look of Evitt, fast strong and good skills, he with Robbo and Golding make 3 good small forwards all with good skills and good defensive side.

Huge task against the premiers next week at Apartment stadium, they will be riding high after their big comeback against Joondy, but they have also been very up and down. Took us apart last meeting so hoping for a much more competitive showing.

Well that's one positive.

I'm actually happy too. He seems to have the players working hard. Reserves and league support each other.  The club seems pretty happy. He  may not be the perfect coach, but he's definitely reasonable and he's doing ok with cattle we've got. I may be wrong, but that's how it seems from the outside.

I'm not sure what to make of the extension of Wardman's contract. Obviously a lot of stuff happens that supporters don't see and the players and decision makers at the club are pretty happy with him. I don't think his results over the last 6 years warranted an extension but what do I know.

I think we underestimate Wardman as a coach because he doesn’t have a playing background. Also because he took over a ready made team from Jarrad Schofield where he could only go one way. He has coached quite a few of the current players to a colts premiership and then won two premiership wins in five years (with 2020 season being covid affected in there too).
On the few occasions I have heard him speak he has been impressive with a clear understanding of the issues facing the club.
Last year we made a preliminary final and he seems to have support of the players. I am not sure that there are better coaches out there we could be chasing, but he doesn’t seem to have done much wrong to deserve anything but the chance to continue to develop this group. Congratulations to Beau on the extension!
