No real changes but I do like the move of Eaton down back and the horse and carriage driver into the ruck.  From Wikipedia - Wagen' means a 'horse-drawn vehicle', 'Knecht' a servant.

Last week they were forced to move Savigni back to the half back line. I hope we get a full game to judge whether the chf move will work. He's the best thing subi have going for them atm.

I look at that team and find it hard to see Subi winning. Hope they prove me wrong by about 100 points.

Back from 3 weeks over east and we have really fallen in a hole. Some would say "honourable loses", but a loss is a loss. Like a few other clubs we have long term injuries to key players but so far have failed to cover those missing players which shows a lack of depth which others have mentioned. Hopefully the younger guys can get a decent run of games under their belts for the rest of the season and the club must look at some selective recruiting to cover areas that we cant do with whats in the cupboard. The fact that the club did not proceed early with finding an experienced ruckman over the off season is unforgivable. We could all see that Zac was cooked before the end of last season, but he is a warrior and played his heart out despite the 2 stuffed knees.
We have Wagontrains and Duff as our 2 best ruck prospects but they are as raw as and at least a season or 2 away from being competitive against the giants that the top 3 or 4 clubs have. Also likely that we could lose several experienced senior players at seasons end, ie Kitch, Gus, Locks, maybe even Sok now that he's past the 150 game mark. So the club really needs to accept that we are in a major re-build phase and we need to give as many youngsters as possible a decent go for the rest of the season.

Big challenge tomorrow against what is now a much better performing and well coached WCER team under Horse, suffice to say he has quite a few more full time pro's at his disposal than past years.

Frothy that's us full strength mate apart from Sokol. Sok out for 3-4 and apart from him it looks like everyone else are gone for the year. Braut has just gone from 1-2 wks to indefinite so he must have had a setback

That’s a worry when you look at it like that DG. I assume Lockyer is gone?

Yes Frothy I'd say he would be doubtful to go on next year imo

Much better effort this week although in saying that, WCE don't seem to have too much to work with.

Our midfield was dominant with Schofield, the Motts, Clark, Snadden, Kitch to a lesser extent all getting plenty of it.

I also thought our small forwards pressured really well in the front half such as Golding, who didn't hit the score board but laid 9 tackles and had 5 inside 50s.  Evitt growing every week and Stergiou did some good work with a couple of goals.

Set shots were a bit ordinary with Mayo the main culprit kicking 1.4 and missing some easy one's, but I don't think the conditions helped too much and I'd much rather us scoring than them.

The wagon driver didn't look out of place leading the ruck although I think the use of a second ruckman was a dog's breakfast at times where Henderson, Mayo and even Clark was used.  Surely they should have thrown Eaton into the middle when the Wagon driver took a rest.

Rohde was a rock down back, Berenger still learning the caper, Faraone ok, Eaton quiet, and Corbett bobbed up and did some good things.

All in all a good win which will hopefully turn things around from here on.  I did like the move of Savigni back into defence and Borchet up forward.  Savigni is an impact player and he does his best work as a defender so let's keep him there.

Thought the Eagles played Subi into form today. We got our kicking game going. We moved Borch and Savigni around nicely. Eaton did well in defence. Clark showed the Eagles what they were missing.

Why were we able to transition around the wings so easily? Other teams don't let us do that. Robbo looked as good as, if not better than deware and brockman. Wardman had struck a defiant note in the west and the team had the same attitude. Mayo made Jamieson look ordinary. I enjoyed today.
