Agree with previous posts, bad skills and poor decision making. Cant question the effort but our inability to hit targets cost us the game as much as poor goal front accuracy and a rediculous imbalance in frees. Once again we had a 195cm ruckman up against a 205cm ruckman with a reach like an orangatang, hence the dominance in hitouts to SF. They had 54 more kicks and 33 less handballs which confirms their short chip and run game plan which regularly creates the overlap and loose man. We tried that but the thing is, like us, they kicked to red and white jumpers!!
Robbo was good along with Evitt who looks the goods and will no doubt spend some time in the mids later in the season and next season, quick, skilled and smart. Schoey looked classy in patches and along with Kentfield will be better for the run. terrible luck for Hayden, was sitting near his mum who conformed it was a hammy, thats after the ACL and then doing a bad ankle at work in the pre-season, cant take a trick. Mayo was out with hamstring tightness so just precautionary.
Ash once again had a ripper game in the ressies, how he doesn't get a game and Snadden dose is beyond me. A few others had real dirty days including Rohde who couldn't do a thing right. he's far better than that and will work through it. Still look slow and the group will need the week off to really have a look at whats happening to basically the same team (apart from Clarke) that got to a prelim last season. Then it's the ferals, if we get within 10 goals of them it will be a miracle.

SS......Outs from last year's finals side:
Clarke, Giro, Walters, Stainsby, Braut, Heal, Tholstrup
.
Ins this year:
Clark, Foley, Corbett. (and Mayo...now fit).

The loss of Clarke was huge because not only did he dominate the hit outs during the year, he was also like another mid-fielder "almost" getting Delahunty size possessions around the ground. It was noticeable that when Peel's big talls put the clamps on him in the preliminary last year that Subi struggled. I think his dominance covered up a lot of cracks last year and I honestly thought finishing third flattered us somewhat with no chance of beating EF if we'd got through.
Giro has genuine pace and run, something we have little of, so again another huge out for us in my opinion.
Walters, whilst past his very best, was still a very strong body in the clinches and could pull of some unpredictable things at times.
Stainsby often got the "stopper" role against dangerous opposition small/mid forwards and generally did it well even if not getting it a lot himself.
Braut was thrown here and there as usual and was a handy spare parts man even if not his best season..........hopefully he can contribute soon this year once finally fit.
Heal missed a number of games during the year but was still the old wise head down back as we know and just gave us that guy who could play on talls or mids.
Tholstrup had flair and was the excitement package in the games he was available for us prior to getting drafted.

In summary, I think Subi try very hard each week on the back of around 10 very good players but we lack the depth and class of a number of other clubs at this point in time.

Well said Ocker. There were so many times last season I said that we would be fkd without Clarke, and Giro wasn't far behind him. So here we are...

I see on the WAFL injury hub, Hayden is listed as an indefinite out with a hammy and Lockyer the same with a knee.  Not good for either and hope they're not as bad as they sound.

I think I said previously that we need to have a full complement to be anywhere near competitive with the top sides and this doesn’t look likely at the moment. Praying that neither Greg Clark or Ben Sokol get injured in tomorrow’s state game as we need to be at our best to trouble East Perth next Saturday.
