Great game of footy given the conditions, thought the ground stood up pretty well, might not be the case for todays games.
The 2nd and 3rd qtrs decided the outcome. The 2nd was all Subi but we failed to capitalise on our dominance with a 4.8 to 0.1 result. The 3rd qtr was all Peelmantles 6.5 to 0.3 result. This gave them a 10 point buffer, so they were able to continually flood our attacking 50 and then kill us with run on the rebound. We looked leg weary in the 2nd half while their fulltime AFL group ran the game out supoer well. We put up a good fight in the last when Sok finally hit some form but couldn't contain their run with both teams posting 4.3 in the last.

For us, Giro, L Hickmont, Maxy and Clarke were our best, for them we could not contain Brodie and when they switched Bell to the mids after halftime, he dominated the contests, an absolute bull who I've always said would have made it at the next level. Bell turned the game for them.

Clarke had his hands full with big Reidy who was very good and to a lesser extent Smith but he still managed 46 hitouts. Both the big Peel rucks worked Zac over and he looked spent at the end of the game, fortunately we will have that extra day to recover, hoping that todays game is a long hard super physical wet weather slog of a contest that goes down to the wire.

Apparently, we might see Schoey back next week, word was that if we lost he would play, if we had won he would have had the extra week off. We missed his polish around the ground and his finishing in front of goals. While the ressies capitulated badly to a very good Swans team, a couple of players in Morgan and Robinson can push up for a league game next week.

Well done to the Colts on a fine win, great second half kicking 7.6 to 0.1. Collard is a special kid, unfortunately we wont see him next year as he is a certain early draft pick.

Next Sunday at Leederville with all 3 grades in sudden death games.

Choked for the second week in a row against the two best teams but in saying that I think we can beat the tiges next week and possibly freo if we face them again. As others have mentioned some strange coaching moves this week, surely Snadden’s luck has run out, not offering much again

Eastland with 40 hit outs and 21 possessions was easily the Tigers most influential player,if Zac Clarke gets on top or breaks even, oobi Doobi should be winning.

RL, both times we played the Tigers the ruck contest has been worth the entry fee, the 2 best ruckman in the comp (given Jones is injured) the old Fox and the young gun, will be great to watch, whichever gets the ascendency goes a long way to who wins the game.

Peelmantle's Liam Reidy looks like an ample backup ruckman for Luke Jackson should Sean Darcy seek a trade to a Victorian club. At age 23, 204cm and 104kg. I love Sean Darcy but it's probably the smart play by Fremantle to get some good draft picks for him otherwise they'll probably lose Reidy to a club searching for a ruckman and he will be looking for AFL opportunities.

DD, agree about Reidy, huge bloke, same height but would have had 10-15 kegs on Clarke so managed to block a lot of Zac's path to the throw ups, got pinged a couple of times but was pretty physical which in tandem with the other big Freo ruck managed to wear Clarke down to the point that the hitouts were petty even.

Message to the Subi recruiters, get a big mobile ruckman for 2024. The youngsters in the lower grades have some promise but are really raw and a couple of years off being competetive at league level.

I see Dan Rich has just announced his retirement from the afl. Be nice to have him back for a couple of years but at 33 yo it’s doubtful unfortunately. Geez it only seems like 2 minutes ago he was with us as a teenager bombing them 60+ metres

There's a nice photo of him along with Adam Cockie and Kyle Horsley before the 2008 GF in the West online.

Agreed DG.  The mentoring would be invaluable.  Plus I'd love to see Greg Clark and Sam Menegola back next year too.

Heard Danny interviewed on the radio and he's not heading back West. Been in Qld for 15 years and considers that as his home.
He would have career or business opportunities set up, which most clubs do for their loyal long term players. Shame he didn't get to play more AFL finals but will always be welcome back at Subi for re-unions for those couple of flags he played in for us.
