We, like everyone else thrashed them in the early part of the season, they are now playing a lot better as WC's injury toll diminishes. SD who beat us only fell over the line against them. While I expect us to win, the players will not want to think its a doddle. We need to win and win well as % will decide the top 5 order.

Looks like a pretty much unchanged team, if we do get well on top early, I'd be looking to give Clarke an early shower, he's done a huge amount of work all season and is absolutely critical if we are to go deep into the finals.

SS, you will pump them by 100+, they only had 6-7 AFL listed players for a couple of weeks and now back to Amateurs again.

We will move to second with a win, a good % boost will be handy with only two games remaining after this, against the two freo teams. Old easts will be tough to beat in our final game, so need to win the next two well

Could set up an interesting final round between EF n Subi, with perhaps the minor premiership on the table. Can see Subi easily gobbling up that current 10% gap between themselves and  EF today.

Though Peel are lurking and probably out of all the teams in the top 5, they will have the most change in personnel, to strengthen their flag aspirations.

Ok, what do I say about that game, would normally take a 69 point win gladly but apart from the last qtr, we were pretty ordinary given the opposition, but in saying that WCER gave it everything so credit to them, particularly young Lucassen who bagged 6. He should be looked at by real WAFL teams, clever small medium forward.
Our backline leaked goals for most of the day which is unusual. We lost Heal and Walters before the game, but we lacked intensity for 3 qtrs and lost focus for long periods during the game. Not good enough when we are chasing percentage.
Clarke was dominant as expected, L. Hickmont with 32 and 1, Giro with 29 and 1 and Schoey with 25 and 3 did well in the mids, Schoey should have had 5 or 6 but was part of the teams inability early to convert. Sok with 5.4 was uncharacteristically off target but we did end up with 12 goal kickers.

Back to Saturday v Souths next week which will be a far tougher assignment so we need to get our focus and intensity back to what it was against the Ferals.

Yes, underwhelming performance. Thought we looked vulnerable to pace today. West Coast were reasonably entertaining in their fast ball movement. Tyler deware showed a bit, I thought. Lightening quick.

ketterfield, Special K, looks like he could be a real contributor. Clark seemed to only play half a game. He looked super fit and strong. Why west Coast don't play him is beyond me. I just don't think they are trying to win at all costs.

JL agree, it's pretty obvious that WC AFL are tanking, that 1st draft pick is so valuable it's too big a risk to go out and try and win. Must be something the AFL can do to stop this cynical practice. And it's not just WC doing it others have done so in the past. Not a good look for the game or the teams members and supporters.

Is it a usual practice that a player can play in the AFL on Saturday, then also in the WAFL on Sunday? As in Greg Clark.

Tbh I think Clark will probably be back with us next season, possibly Foley also. Good chance Rich will be finished in the afl as well. Be nice to have him back for a year or two

In the American Basketball league the draft is done by lottery, so you put the bottom 3 or 4 teams into a hat and the first one pulled out gets the Number 1 pick. This reduces the incentive for a team to tank because there is only a 1 in 4 chance that it will benefit them
