I think this is the case. Mark Lawrence must be the most successful president in the club's history, if not Wafl history. Was very good at speaking to a happy premiership crowd.

Leaving at the end of the year apparently and there's a succession plan in place already according to the club's website.

Current vice president Russell Smith has been endorsed by the board and the admin to take over at the next AGM. Subi has done this sort of thing very well since Kevin Merrifield sorted the clubs failing admin out in the early mid 80's. Russell will have a job on his hands to address the run of financial/trading losses over the last few years, while the club has plenty of money at hand due in the past to having the Subi oval lease, clubrooms and members seating to use for AFL games, that wont last forever.

On field I expect we will be middle table, challenging for a finals spot for a few years as some of our experienced players get to the end of their careers, but we should concentrate on the youngen's coming through especially from the successful Futures programme that has been undefeated for 2 or 3 years, the colts who made the prelim last year and the ressies who won the flag.
