Can’t question our commitment today, but really anything less on such a big day would raise some serious questions. But skills on the other hand…even though the conditions weren’t favourable. Decision making equally as terrible a lot of the time. No excuse for that. Not a bad side on paper but we are playing nothing like last year or previous years which is a bit of a worry. Lucky we were playing a well under strength perth tbh. Can’t believe Dewar was named in the ressies list in the budget, surely a miss print?? If not then I have no fkn idea what’s going on. We need a few more Giro’s, a damn good player, one or 2 big strong good backs, same for forwards and the obvious big durable ruckman who will play most games without getting injured, plus the same attitude as today in all games, to be top 5 contenders and be competitive with the top teams next year. How good was the 22 minute mark of the last qtr, on ya Dela what a legend, will miss you big time. JL we don’t need a good bloke as s coach imo but I do respect your opinion

Perth were pretty undermanned. No doubt about it. My point about Wardman, like Simpson, is that it is good to have a good character in charge. Wardman seems to build strong relationships. That's Better for the club.

he's not frightening.  I have no idea about his tactics. I can't understand them in the huddle. They are system based. He hardly ever picks individuals out. He doesn't seem to upset players. They are a happy bunch.  Can't see subi showing him the door, even if German might be more successful.

After last week's debacle I thought that was a pretty good effort against an undermanned Perth. We missed a few connections coming out of defence which saw costly turnovers but I'd sooner see a free flowing game plan through the corridor than the safe, short possession, overuse of the footy which is the current trend at AFL level.

The usual suspects in Kitch, Dela, Heal, Max, Rohde, Giro, Stainsby were all very good but it's the young talent coming through that excites me the most. Henderson, Savigni, Eaton, Ash all played their part and good to see big Atkinson charging through the middle in what must be a fearsome sight to opposition players.

A decent performance against the 4%er's next week will have us go into the offseason in reasonable shape and I have no doubts the club has identified where we need to improve and started working on potential recruits already.

One last mention of the playing surface. From what I saw yesterday, I think it will be fine for the GF given it's 5 weeks away with no more footy to be played on it.

A good win and appropriate way to say thanks to Dela and congrats to Kitch.

Pretty much on the money BC, Giro must be odds on for club F & B along with Rohde who has been super consistent. Have always liked how Ash goes about it, staggering that he missed so many games mid season as he was in good consistent form, maybe an injury? Savigni is already a very good player and will get better as his body matures and gets bigger, same for Henderson. Eaton is a work in progress and like all our rucks is not big enough, the club needs to chase a good 201-203 100+kegs ruckman and the likes of Putt and Eaton can be the 2nd stringers while they learn the gig. Young Turbo had a day out in the ressies with 6, hope they leave him there and load the team with as many qualified league players for next week to give us a chance of winning against the ressies top team and secure 3rd spot. Perth did the same last season and won the flag. The colts had a good win and seem pretty save also in 3rd.

Atkinson showed a bit and as mentioned, he's a fearsome sight coming off half back but he needs to steady a bit before kicking as he missed a number of targets, but he can bomb it easily over 60+

Next week is a non event, Joondy will be fired up after falling away against Swans, they need to win to ensure top spot ahead of a rampaging Gummies.

A nice touch by the Perth boys after the game to clap Dela off the ground and acknowledge Kitch's milestone...well done to them on a sporting gesture.

Yes, respect to the Perth boys and the PFC for that gesture.

I couldn't stay after the game but my old mate Murray did and he said the joint was rocking and chockablok. Dela made a great speech, reiterating the piss poor treatment he got from Joondy when he was planning to sign with them, a special thankyou to the WPFC for the way they treat potential recruits. Kitch made a great speech as well. Murray spoke to Locks in the rooms and he had a similar story regarding Joondy. When he came back from the AFL, he just fronted up back at Joondy ready to don the red and blue but was met with indifference, so looked elsewhere and ended up at Subi. Drew Rohde again was told he's struggle to get a league game, went to play up the coast, ran into a former Subi player who said to give Subi a go and he was welcomed with open arms. Keep up the good work Joondy.

Yes SS, I bought one of the Dela T-shirts online and was going to hang around for the after game function but we had friends coming over so had to take off after they were chaired from the ground. There were lots of ex players at the game and people wearing his T-shirt so figured it would have been a big night.

I guess we're at fault too with returning AFL players after Ainsworth went to Perth so reckon there's some lessons to be learnt there and not to take it for granted they'll come back to their club of origin.

Agree BC, we should be doing everything possible to make sure Taj Schofield ends up back in the Lions den. Murray mentioned there might be a couple of others on AFL lists who may get delisted so I hope the club is onto these guys. Sadly non are ruckmen.

I tried to get a Dela T but they had already sold out before the game started.

I see that Kyron Hayden at North Melb has also been cut, hope Subi is all over him and Taj Schofield on returning to the club.

Yes agree Jim. At 23 he'd be very handy back at the club. He seems a bit injury prone but you'd think he could be managed a bit better at WAFL level. No doubt the club is all over it.
