After reading that we had 18 out against WCE due to Covid protocols last weekend we could struggle to field league and ressies teams this week.  Even if we get a few back, there could be a bit of lethargy so not expecting big things but will wait and see who's available I guess.

Gee that's a fair number there missing BC, hopefully that answers Doggie's question.

Good luck to young  ex EF colt  from Gero, Jaimon Alone in the reserves today...hopefully he shows his undoubted ability....wish it was at EF, but interesting the GNFL indigenous talent drain to Subi continues....Alone, Bartlett, Jonny Garlett, Johnny Narkle and Jackson of late....reckon the Flyin Ryan success has played a part in that.

Geez BC, with that quality missing and even with a number of new faces on Souths list, if they cant beat us today, they will never beat us. All those guys bar Snadden played a major part in last years flag win. Will miss Hickmont's tag on Ducker Schloithe, he's shut him down in recent contests. If Duckers left alone to play he can tear a team apart.
Souths by at least 30pts.

Yes SS ...obviously all sides lose players and none more important to us than Greg Clark and even Nick Martin but that's footy. To have so many out due to Covid protocols and injury isn't ideal but I'd rather it at the start of a new season than towards the end going into finals as Souths did last year. The upside is guys like Breman, Ash and Holt get some exposure to the big time against a quality side like Souths so we can see if they can play or not. I expect to lose but will be there anyway as I'm sure we'll be competitive and there's also unfurling of last years flag. Go Subi.

There is no point Sokol trying to win the ~'Bernie Naylor,' this season with such defensive coaching from Subiaco; well done SF..

I thought the young guys who came in did really well considering we lost Drew Rohde before the game meaning we were missing 11 current players from last years GF team. Our youngsters learnt quite a bit today and even though some were found wanting, that sort of experience is invaluable. To be in front for the entire game with the exception of the last 10 minutes was testament to their endeavour and work rate. I hate losing but have to give credit where it's due and for mine, Wardman coached to our strengths and covered our weaknesses. It was a defensive game but if we had of played a wide open expansive brand of footy I think Souths would have blown us away very quickly as they were too big and too talented to try and match them through the middle. Wardman gave us every opportunity to win the game with his defensive structure but unfortunately we weren't good enough. One criticism was that Florenca wasn't tagged until after half time which at that point, he had 21 touches. He only had 7 more after that so I think Wardman erred in waiting too long to match up on him. Other than that, a good effort and hopefully we'll start to get a few back from next week.

A brave effort by subi today. Really liked the bald guys in defence. Numbers 24 and 29. Sorry a bit ipa hazyed up to remember names. But a heroic back line all day. If only della hadn't played on. Great turn up at the club afterwards. Lots of past players. Wardman spoke very well.

Ash looks promising.  Golding was tough in the clinches. Reserves have some interesting players built like brick shit houses.
