Got a feeling eagles will struggle to field a decent team. Training season for subi coming up. Chance to work on scoring some goals, relying less on Sokal, and not turning it over coming out of defence. How about a few marks inside 50 ?

FMD...the only thing you need to get a game at Subi is a brother playing. The Matera's, Hickmott's, Fullgrabe's...I can't wait for Borchet to come back from injury as it's a monty his brother will get a gig as well.

I didn't see the game so maybe I'm missing something but on top of many previous outstanding efforts, to last week having 18 touches 5 grabs 4 tackles 5 inside 50's and 3 goals as a centreman what does he have to do to get a game? Maybe he has shagged the wrong person SS or maybe we should all shut up and stop pushing as Wardman and co seem to be stubborn kiants

BC; there is also the father son angle, Goulding and Putt, to add to the family mix.

Well a pretty ordinary game and an ordinary effort by us, each team dominated for 2 qtrs we were a little bit more effective going forward, not to say our forward line is totally functional at the moment but a lot of that is due to poor delivery. Couple of big outs in Dela and Kennedy plus losing Atkinson early with a very bad hammy, could well be his season done, looked like it snapped the way he pulled up and could barely get off the ground. Dela in covid quarantine for 2 weeks after coming back from Vicco, surely must have been an urgent family matter as we wont have him next week v Joondy which is critical.

Vardy dominated the ruck but I thought Matthews battled manfully with out Dela plus losing Atkinson. Kitch, Clark, Harris Stainsby & Hickmont kept us in the game, particularly Kitch who I thought was BOG. Matera senior had his best game for us with 3 goals, his improvement has been steady, if we can get 3 each week he's well worth his spot. We could not contain Brayshaw, he had a very good game, Heal was our best back with a number of intercept marks.

I didn't make it to the game so watched the live steam, while grateful for the telecast and acknowledging it's done by WC, the commentary by that tool Gossage was disgraceful, at no time did he acknowledge the good work by us, it was all due to the WC errors not our pressure or good play. Yes WC are paying him but it is so unprofessional for any commentator to say "We" when referring to a team rather than saying West Coast and several times he mentioned around the ground scores and referred to Perth playing on WC's home ground and good that WC were allowing it, probably a bit tongue in cheek but he said it 4 or 5 times, so disrespectful to Perth footy club.

Some big games coming up v WP, SF & Cl, all of who have stellar mid-fields, if we serve up similar to today we will lose all 3 and could be facing missing out on top 3. We need to bolster the mids and surely .... surely it's time to bring in Golding and we must bring in Putt to support Matthews while Dela is out.

Good vibe in the rooms after game. Clancy wheeler in the house I take that as a good sign. 

Agree with SS 's summary. Liked the way Oscar battled with Vardy. Maxy won best. Kitch and heal the other winners. 

Matera senior played his best game, despite kicking to the opposition regularly. 
Putt was helping out today around club. Would like to see him come in too. young hickmont provides a bit of pace and class but i would be prepared to give Golding a go. Robbins tackeled well but is limited as a player at this stage. Adds pace though which is important. 

 

I’ve watched a couple of the live streams from Eagles Facebook and yes, the commentary is ridiculous. I had to turn the sound off then it’s ok. I get that it’s going to be one sided as it belongs to the Eagles. 
The Matera bros are starting to really bug me. I’ve noticed now the first thing either do is look for the other. Then generally botch the disposal. 
Bombing it high into the forward line never worked all day. 
An ordinary game all round, but good character to come from behind and get the win despite two key players missing.

The 1st qtr reminded me of the recent game vs swans, kicking to the opposition. Thankfully things got a little better. Max Walters is awesome, I saw him crazily back into a pack in a marking attempt in the goal square, after what has happened to him. The guy has no fear and is 100% team man! That's surprising SS, I thought gossage was a big Subi man from way back, didn't he coach our colts at one stage?
