TOPIC:

With the preseason now over, from my perspective it didn't really give a clue on how we might go this year.  Some key players in Dela, Max Walters, Marsh, Braut, Matera x 2 played limited minutes while Kennedy and Nick Martin didn't play at all.  The upside was the emergence of a quality ruckman in Putt, the early form of Borchet, Sokol kicking goals and the backs all appearing fit and healthy.   The downside is that we'll be relying too much on Kitch in the mids now that Horse and Newt have moved on but sending Greg Clark and Marsh into the mids might help a bit.  It wouldn't surprise me one little bit if EP were the big improvers this year so this weeks game should be a beauty.    Subi by a couple in a tough and close one.

It appears according to DG Kennedy did play restricted minutes in the ressies last week but Nick Martin hasn't been seen as far as I know which is a concern coming off a 5 week training block with WCE. I hope the pricks haven't nobbled him.

Yes BC , Ben Sokol is one that seems to have found some early form after what i thought was a disappointing year for him in 2020. Not sure if he was carrying an injury last year but never really seemed to get going after a stellar finish to 2019. May have been disappointed about not being drafted, but hopefully back to his best for us this season! Nick Martin i believe came back with a calf injury and these can take time to heal properly. Doubt whether WCE are covering his rehab costs.

New jumper for Subi this season?

Hope not. We're not a yoke club. Like the old jumper.

The jumper Kitchin was wearing at the season launch was a completely new strip, like Melbournes sort of in maroon and gold

The jumpers are being worn on Friday only then auctioned off.

Definately looks like the are going back to the Jumper they wore up until about the mid 60s

 

1959 was before my time. I'll have to ask the old man about that. Must have been a big disappointment, 1959.
