The team seems pretty well settled if the last 2 scratchy's are anything to go by. Braut should come back if fit...I'm not sure about the status of Borchet as he hasn't been seen so far and Upton has played ressies in both games so unlikely he'll make the round 1 team. Sokol has been pretty quiet and is due to find some form and Harry Marsh provided a hit up target in the forward line so a nice replacement for clanger. Claremont has been a bit up and down in the preseason and they lost a lot of experience over the offseason but should be thereabouts again. The last few games against them have all been very close so expect another tight one this week. Subi by a couple of goals or less.

Oh BC, what are you thinking! Subi by a close margin? Set up now for the response to a (shudder) Subi loss, or dare I say, a big win!

Borchet named but I'd be very surprised if he plays seniors. If I were a betting man I'd see Nick Martin into FF, Borchet to play ressies and an interchange of Hickmott, Beverley, Rohde and Doyle. A good side on paper with only Braut missing from the squad.

Claremont side looks fairly unimpressive, Bolton and Nyhuis may not get up. If we can get within six goals I’ll be happy.

Pretty good line up BC, backline as solid as always but the centreline forward looks particularly strong. As you say, if Borch has not played any pre-season I'd say no chance of playing in the league tomorrow. Move Sok to CHF, Dela to FF changing in the ruck. Will be a heavy track given Leederville doesn't deal with wet weather well given the Eagles mud based makeover several years ago, so talls are not as important, grunt at ground level will win this and we have plenty of that. Too mentioned Claremont may be without Bolton and Nyhuis, Bolton in particular is a massive out for them and Nyhuis is a quality player.

Borchet has been named in the final 22 on the WAFL website and Doyle named as an emergency. That could all change before final team sheets are submitted tomorrow before the game but that's how it stands at the minute.

Disappointing result. They got first hands on the ball with a winning ruck and their mids made every use of it. A few lucky goals and baffling umpire decisions but can't take anything away from Claremont. Our forward pressure was non-existent and the ease Claremont took the footy out of our front half made it easy for them to hit targets up the ground. We have some work to do but I guess the only redeeming feature was that we lost the first game last year too but with a shortened season, it will hurt even more when we get to the sharp end of the season.

Did Bolton end up playing BC?

The result may be good for you guys in the long term as far as sharpening your focus. Next time you play Claremont will most likely be in a final
