I see today on a lot of topics you now have to be a subscriber for a $1 a day. Good luck with that Kerry if you think your newspaper site is worth a dollar a day. I did start subscribing to WA Today a few months ago so I can get a bit of variety. Tha costs just $7.57 per month. But I ain't paying a dollar a day for thin air.

Yep..I saw that too DD. It's the handy work of the new Editor in Chief DeCeglie. I certainly won't be paying $250 a year to read about bloody West Coast Eagles every day either.

BC I use Google News a lot and there is a coĺlaborative effort between the big news mastheads and Google to force people to subscribe. You will see a news story about Perth Western Australia under the banner of The Sydney Morning Herald so when you go there it tells you you have to subscribe to read the article. No way known the Sydney Morning Herald gives a shit what goes on in the West. It is just a dodgy tactic to try to force you to subscribe. The media regulators should investigate this tactic.

I read the online Worst regularly, to keep up with news from Sleepy Hollow.

A dollar a day to read stories from a glorified suburban newspaper ain't gunna happen but - I guess I will read what I can, and google any stories of interest that are pay-walled.

They're not all paywalled for the moment...you can tell the one's that are by the little cross like symbol next to the headline banner.

Yep - saw that, thanks BC.

What I was trying to say was that I would read the interesting stories that aren't "crossed", and google the interesting ones that are.

I wonder if they will start paywalling the usual "Perth lotto winner", and "New Exciting Plan for Central Perth", and "Eagles Player Picks His Nose in Public", and Basil Zemplis' Thoughts On Rocket Surgery" type stories? B)

They are only copying what happens in the eastern states which is nothing to be proud of. Several news paper sites over there are charging a fee for their online articles which is sad to see.

I noticed it this morning also, no chance I will be kicking in to pay for the journalism they come up with.

So maybe Vardy shouldn't have yelled out someone's name to put someone off at training, but fair dinkum you are going to paywall that.

Good luck in to those at the Worst and their attempts to gouge the general public for more than the ordinary journalism they cough up day after day.

My wife loves the worst but even she is getting annoyed at the printed version. I don't read it at all and don't have it or any other local news outlet other than the ABC on my electronic feeds. I reckon I get enough from that with the world stuff coming from the BBC, NYT and Al Jazeera.

Same here Jack. I only use to look at WAFL stories, I just won’t bother. Recent front page headline “ neighbours go to court due to cubby built on parapet wall” finished me off
