How desperate is the Turnbull Government to stave off certain defeat with the loss of 4-6 seats in Western Australia?

Suddenly after 5 years and in a supposedly debt crisis the Turnbull Government has found a pot of gold to fund the GST shortfall for WA. Absolutely no credibility Scott Morrison, Mathias Cormann et al.

The Libs have come out and said they'll change the way GST distribution is calculated...Labor has said they won't but will keep giving WA top ups. Given the Libs version gives more to WA in the medium to long term, let's see if flip flop Shorten backs down again for the second time this week.

BC please clarify how the federal government is able to change the GST distribution unilaterally? The answer is they can't: it requires agreement of ALL states for that to happen.

The Labor Party proposed a minimum of 70 cents in the dollar. What did Scott Morrison say about that? What did he also say about Labor's GST top-up proposal?

And the back flip specialist Bill Shorten will say WE WILL REPEAL this legislation..... Oh shit, NO WE WON'T. You can't trust any of these maggots. The lies are in the sentence "No state will be worse off". There is only one pie so if the government is going to give WA more of the GST than it has been receiving and going to promise other states they will not be worse off, then either they will rob WA somewhere else or borrow more debt to fund their promises.

Listening to old Morrison this morning saying the system was broken and that WA had been losing out for quite some time, he said. Why was it allowed to become broken? I still cannot understand how one state receives over 4 dollars in the dollar? How the hell is that allowed to happen?

DD they can't without reducing the GST paid to other states and territories. They can supplement the gst paid to a state or territory (as Labor indicated they would) but they can't repay more than the 100% of the GST they are currently paying.

Why is it happening 35 or is it 36 news polls in a row? The loss of 4-6 seats in WA including several Ministers is the reason why they are trying to hoodwink WA electors AGAIN.

They will give less to WA for roads, hospitals, schools, public transport and give more handouts to the other states they have promised will be no worse off.
