Did anyone see the interview with Don Burke? Whether the bloke is innocent or guilty of the allegations that have come out suddenly like a pre US election, old Grimface already had him marked as guilty and looked like she would have been happy to put the noose around his neck.

How many so called "personalities" are now enjoying a bloody good career riding on the coat tails of Don Burke and how he changed television in Australia? That bloke that does The Block springs to mind. Didn't he get his start in Backyard Blitz? A Don Burke produced show.
Probably Don Burke has a lot to answer for alright for all the rubbish that we get force fed every week of the year these days.

If Santa reads this can I have the Burke's Backyard box set please SANTA? Don Burke is a legend of Australian television but he's found out the reality how ugly and grubby and false people really are in TV world. I wish you all the best Don.

Almost all the independent commentary has followed the same theme - the guy was a 1st class sleaze.

I said commentary - not media. Even a couple of his own former bosses at 9 said he was a sleaze.

Sounds like DB was not a particularly nice guy, he even offered up that appraisal himself.

Now call me a conspiracy theorist, but DB was Ch 9's biggest thing back in the day, a money making machine for them and all these allegations happened while on their watch. I watched the interview and TG was soft as shite with him, very few really hard hitting questions, I saw it as the first volley in a PR push by Ch9 for DB. Get him to admit he was way less than perfect so he establishes an honest persona on TV but at the same time giving him loads of time to put his case forward. Is this an arse covering job?

Anyway Ch7 & 10 will go hard at DB to do as much damage as they can to the 9 "brand".

The media here are tarred with the same brush as the Trump haters. Anyone who dares not to serve the mighty media look out. Those CH 9 executives you talk about had their differences with the Don who was so successful he had his own production company and there you have it, a clash of giant ego's. Did any of you see the CH 9 interview?

Even when one of CH nines top 60 minutes reporters is guilty of stupidity they get away with it because she's part of the inner circle while those outside the circle are left to rot. They know how to manipulate the viewers.

Sounds like they were trying to save their own asses, why didn't they do something about it back then? They were executives ffs. Yeh it sounds like he was inappropriate at times and a nasty piece of work but I`m prepared to hear both sides of the story and judge from there. Some of the allegations do sound so far out and unbelievable that if they were true how didn't at least one of his crew, just one, over all those years stand up and man up to say something? They were just as selfish then about their own jobs for not speaking out, if these allegations are true of course. Time will tell.

This all could get very very nasty and just be the beginning. Don has been around a long time in television. He would have heard a few stories of his own and could have a bit of dirt on a few people in the industry himself, including some high flyers. He hinted at that himself and he's already hired a top flight lawyer.

But clearly he's had enough and at least had the guts to come on air, face the cameras and say yeh, I was not a nice guy and was a bit difficult to get along with. Unless he's been guilty of rape or dealing with minors then just move on FFS. How many men including big TV executives would be guilty of making sexually intimidating remarks and a bit of ass slapping of a female over the past few decades?

Suddenly it's becoming trendy to rake up mud on someone from decades ago.

......if it was anyones wife, daughter, niece etc on the end of a good ole sexual innuendo, arse grab etc reckon folk would want a bit more than just "move on" I reckon.....the guy admits he was an A prick, difficult to work with, plus both male and female colleagues said he was an arrogant sleaze....who gives a toss how long ago it happened....it happened.....can well believe some of these ego manic "stars" taking advantage of their power over some dime a dozen youngster seeking their own way in the TV/film game....no different to a teacher, priest, doctor etc doing the same and abusing their society standing....

if DB is guilty throw the book at him......if not then sadly othet folk who did/do really experience such behaviour in their life will be reluctant to speak out for themselves because of some money grabbing idiot...one word v another sadly I guess.....hopefully the truth comes out which ever that maybe.

He is just another dickhead who used power to avoid being named. Even c9 kept a dossier on him but were too weak to use it. Also refer to "Don Burkes dark side" (May 2005).. Hang the prick and those who protected him.
