A sad day for WA politics in my opinion.

I first met Ernie back in the 60's when he had the butcher's shop (fairly sure it was) in Hall's Creek. He was very much liked by Aboriginal and white Australians - a very popular man. Also wasn't too bad on the guitar! Would be great to see his vision of a pipeline from the Kimberleys to Perth come to fruition as the 'Ernie Bridge Pipeline'. He wouldn't have remembered a skinny young kid from back then, but I will always remember the man he was. RIP Ernie.

Too true 58 I would rather drink water piped down from the Kimberley than drink treated toilet water as has been proposed!
On another note maybe the new footbridge across the Swan River from East Perth to the new Burswood Stadium could be appropriately named the Ernie Bridge!

R.I.P Ernie

Similar respects from me toward Ernie Bridge.

On a more flippant note it would have to be the Ernie Bridge Bridge.
