Downright embarrassing as a paying member for the past 15 yrs.

Was always suspected on some level but such a widespread cover-up?

The must disgraceful thing about all this, is nothing was ever done about it, the club has never been fully held to account, further certain members of the management are still in place and still on very, very good wickets.

I don't cop this "every other clubs was doing it BS" from what we know , there is no other club with the same sort of issues as WCE, and the old shoplifter excuse of "oh everyone nicks stuff - why cant I " Is out out piss weak.

That is exactly the problem - Nisbett & a few mates are still in positions or in his case have risen higher , cannot have scum like that anywhere near kids in any system full stop , a proven liar about serious dangerous drug use

Agreed but why weren't they held to account by the AFL, WAFC et al. The reason i believe is that once you start to air the dirty linen of one place the defence is well what about them and then the AFL has a bigger issue and I am not sure they were equipped to deal with it then and even now. look at the Essendon process, an embarrassing process to say the least (the drugs notwithstanding)! There is no defence for the behaviour but at the end of the day the product is all that matters to the ówners'.

Because the one person who was getting the warnings from the cops did nothing except pick the scumbag players up from whatever cell or nightclub they'd landed in mate
Yeah I know about Product shepherding & this supplement crap - I and this judge are talking about systematic narcotic use over a decade and the club that basically now are proven to support it's use

Bob Maumill released the names of the Hawks players minutes before the injunction. Some very high profile player.

And was a very impressive list from memory anchor.
As soon as I saw the article, I though - here we go, some of the boys on OF will get themselves a little woody over this.
Thing is, some players were guilty, guilty, guilty. How and why they got off this scott free will never be known by you and I. I think there may have been a bit of help from the AFL. After all, when you look back at what's happened over the last few years (that we now know about), IMO the AFL went into preservation mode. If they pushed the parcel, they were bound to follow up and keep following up on ALL clubs - something that I think would be quite unpalatable to them. Read Embley's interview on this....but no don't. Some of you people only want to hear one side of the story here. This one and others can now go into the WGAF bin along with the endless Essendon saga.
Loved Bartlett's outrage. He knows the Tiges are safe coz they haven't got an AFL flag to run a black line through

Heard Embley hardly anything surprising with what he came out with..., interesting how some want to believe him but conveniently write off Chicks views, of course Chickey was a champion ex player until he started coming out with a few ouch moments...

This is not a good start to the 2017AFL Season. The Eagles drug saga is back on the front page of the media.Just like the many scandals the NRL has, this story just wont go away...Sadly Ben Cousins doesnt help this era disapear with his constant sh7t he does.
The AFL has shown with the Essendon episode that they will act when external pressure is applied to them..It would be a disaster to lose the 2006 premiership.Talk about a Cold Case.Lets just move on and learn from that troubled era>

The era of cover ups are over, its bad enough this report was kept secret for 10 yrs , thats a sign that the Afl were never serious about dealing with the issue, nothing to sully the comp, same style as the way they mishandled the Essendon fark up,

What needs to happen is to re examin this in the cold hard light of day, no more secrets no more BS, appoint a board and have open hearings on what went on and whether or not the club should face the music re 2006.
