The WA Football Commission has recently engaged Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to lead the Structural Review of WA Football. The review represents a significant opportunity to evaluate our existing structures and models and look to deliver the appropriate reform to support the game for coming generations.

The input from all levels of the game will play a critical role in guiding the ultimate outcomes of the review. One part of the mutli - faceted approach to the consultation process is the opportunity for all stakeholders to provide input to the project via the link below. All stakeholders should take the time to complete the survey and help in identifying the key challenges and opportunities facing our game. Please note that the link will be open from Monday 12th September to Monday 19th September.

Yep Swan 42 brought it up under WAFL general chat a few days ago Winger. Must admit I haven't clicked on it yet, must do though.

I found it a rather strange and difficult survey to complete. Asking us to rate what is of most importance. In most instances everything is of equal importance. Anyway I tried to get my point across that the integrity of the WAFL is of most importance as well as the importance of it to not just survive but to flourish.

I might have missed it; did anyone see "host club alignment" anywhere in the survey?

Did anyone see the financial advantage one WAFL club has anywhere in the survey?

Thankfully there were some "other" options and text boxes to elaborate. ;)

But I agree the survey was worded badly.Very poorly set out I thought.

A/man without knowing this to be a fact I would think it is reasonable to assume that the company contracted to do the review would have had a significant role in putting together the questions in the survey. I believe that the questions contained in the survey and the options available for each question were included to provide a desired outcome. I may be cynical but one would have thought that if you were dinkum about a comprehensive survey that host club alignment and the financial superiority of a specific WAFL club would have been explcitly stated in at least one question. And yes obviously there are the free form text boxes, but it seems to me to be a glaring omission.

Swan 42: I am sure you would have managed to get your point across on the alignment and Subiaco. Did you mention your idea about altarrring the points system to discourage the top clubs from recritting from the weaker clubs in the competition?

AR as yet I haven't filled in the survey. I think Imade my point to G Walton when he initated action that would preclude his own uncensored and unabridged comments from being read by users of this site.

With respect to the survey I will be attempting to find out who was the author of the survey. I also hope that the Swans' board and the other WAFL clubs' boards will discuss the host club alignment and to make formal and PUBLIC submissions to the review. I also hope that they send copies of those submissions to the current state government and also to the opposition leader, shadow minister for sport and the relevant local members.

The survey and the terms of reference of the review have the makings of a Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister plot where the required outcome is already known. I hasten to add that albeit there is an explicit statement that that is not the case the very omission of an explicit reference to the host club alignment points to the exact opposite position.

I think it was Peter Spencer that last week asked one of them how about having the gf the week after the afl gf. His reply was something like sure that is something we could look into although a lot of factors come into consideration when making the fixtures. He was also questioned on the effectiveness of previous similar reviews basically admitting they amounted to fa
