Three time heavyweight boxing champion of the world, Olympic gold medalist, and a symbol of the antiwar movement of the 1960s has died aged 74.

One of the good things about getting old - at least I was around to watch the best of the greatest ever boxer. We will never see a Cassius Clay/Muhummad Ali again.

Yep, he was the greatest.
RIP, Mr Ali.

Loved the days of the Rumble in the Jungle.

Many have tried to emulate his verbal sparring both in and out of the ring but they don't even come close. Ali invented it and had the media eating out of his hands. Feel privileged to live in this era to have witnessed one of the all time greats even if it was from afar. With the wonders of modern technology his legacy will live on forever. Some of his greatest work was in interviews during and after he retired with Michael Parkinson and at the Logies with old moon face Bert Newton.

Bert thought for a second or two he was going to wear a right hook after saying "I like the boy". Apparently a bit offensive to a negro American.

Ali had that larrikin sass that appealed to a lot of Australian youth at the time.

Wagged school to watch the first Ali/Frazier fight.

Didn’t have a note the next day but it was well worth the detention.

Managed to score many of his fights on VHS decades later.

Might have to pull them out and have a squiz again.
