What the heck is Smith thinking? the bloke does not even have seat.

Anyway a bit stiff coming in as McGowan approaches the Home Staright and try to steal the cup from the outside...McGowan might not be Mr Excitement but he has put in the years.

Word is the ALP are very concerned , internal polling in the seats that matter reveal they are not getting the traction and the results they need to win 10 the seats they need.

Smith is no world beater anyway...plus the fact he was instrumental in the Krudd - Juliar - Krudd fiasco would be enough to put me off if I was a Laborite.

Without doubt one of the worst defence ministers in decades, mates in the army tell me he was hated, did nothing with the RAN sub aquistion programme, oversaw a shambles with sex scandals.

The labor party, be it at national or state level really cant help themselves avoid their own self destructive tendencies.

State labor just about have the Libs on the canvas if they can stick solid and not shoot themselves in their collective feet. Really, the drovers dog should be able to lead labor to Govt at the next state election but they seem subconsciously not to want to take that next step. This is a massive free kick for the Libs both at State and nationally. WA voters are traditionally conservative and don't need too many excuses not to jump ship. Smith is a self serving sleazy tosser who was deeply involved in the Crudd Ju-liar regimes and assassinations, something people wont forget. He is clearly putting his own interests ahead of that of the party he purports to support. The libs may just about be laughing all the way back into a third term.

Of course,I'll preference the Libs Last and Labor just above them,especially below the line in the Upper House.

Hope they put someone against Barnett,Simpson,Day and Marmion for starters.There's 4 who deserve to go,but not necessarily replaced by Labor.

The media have been sucked in big time on this! What a great ploy from Labor, the tilt was never on and was just a way of rocketing McGowan into the headlines and also getting the support vote from the public who dont want any more leaders knifed in the back. Everyone knows who he is now and Smith took one for the team. Grand work I say!

jeez SD...if you're being serious then you're just as delusional as the pollies with egos the size of all outdoors. i have no doubt someone within Labor's caucus tapped smith on the shoulder for reasons unknown and smith then fluffed up his feathers and said yeah...i'd make a bloody good premier...let's do it with the opportunity to being parachuted into the state's top job just too good to miss. they're all the same on every side of politics...it's an ego trip.

He would have to be the first political leader in history to orchestrate his own coupe detat as a PR stunt ...
