I will say at the outset that what he had to say to S Wawrinka was totally inapropriate and unacceptable and he should have been sanctioned for same. However, what is quite extraordinary is for any Australian Test cricketer to criticise his actions. It beggars belief that one of those critical of him is Shane Warne. Pot and kettle come to mind immediately. If one is to use an Australian team as a benchmark for good sportsmanship the Australian cricket team would be one of the very last teams you would choose.

For those who are suggesting that he should be metaphorically hung, drawn and quartered, they might like to check out the penalty incurred by S Williams when it was alleged that she threatened to ram a tennis ball down an official's throat.

Also, at some stage one has to accept his apology and see if his behaviour improves in the future. Further how is it legitimate to criticise his haircut when one is analysing him as a tennis player and a person? What also seems remarkable is how T Kokkinakis can be guilty by association.

I accept that there are grounds for legitimate criticism of some of his behaviour it seems to me that sa significant percentage of the criticism is extremely excessive. Another case in point was his performance earlier in the year against R Gasquet. There is no question that in one particular game in the second set there was a complete lack of effort. To extrapolate from that and conclude he tanked the match is to completely ignore the reality of the rest of the 4 sets.

Poor old nick has now been dropped from the Davis Cup team. Bernard Tomic (himself left out of the team for his earlier harsh comments criticising tennis Australia over funding), will be welcomed back into the team. Kyrgios came under fire again this week from sports commentators including John McEnroe and Shane Warne after an erratic match on centre court at the US Open against Andy Murray, in which he swore on court, yelled at the crowd and pretended to nap. Coach Wally Masur named the Davis Cup team as Lleyton Hewitt, Sam Groth, Thanasi Kokkinakis and Bernard Tomic. John Millman and Alex Bolt are included as hitting partners.

WAG in the interests of full disclosure could you assess Murray's performance against Anderson? Also, I believe that McEnroe, by no means an angel on the court, was critical of his shot selection. As for Shane Warne, if that isn't the most cynical pot calling kettle black I have yet to see one. No long term Australian test cricketer of the last 15-20 years can be critical of other's behaviour before they look at their behaviour.

Not really familiar with Anderson. Obviously played well to defeat Andy Murray, whom said it was tough losing the match to the South African. Not sure if the court was playing slow or the weather played a part? Don't know Andersons age but sounds a promising type whose on the way up. Maybe Murray was simply outgunned on the day?

WAG he is a South African, late 20s and around 6'5'' to 6'8'. Big server. GEnerally the courts have played pretty fast.

My reference to Murray was his expletive ridden rant afterthe second set.
