What a pleasure it was to watch the end of the Ryobi cup game yesterday and see the Warriors smash NSW for the first time in a one dayer at the SCG for 17 years!
The team played with a commitment and determination rarely seen from them in the last decade and pleasingly much of the work was done by the young guys that Langer has introduced. Firstly there was an excellent innings from Sam Whiteman, who forged two important partnerships with Davis and Voges to lay the foundations for a big score. Whiteman also looked pretty tidy behind the stumps. Then there was a cameo from Hilton Cartwright. Short innings but what was needed at the time.

When we bowled, there was a very impressive first up performance by Joel Paris who swung the ball and tied Watson up in knots before getting him out. Ashton Agar was the highlight for me. Despite being hit for 11 in his first over, he kept throwing the ball up and giving it a chance to spin and was rewarded.

What a great day. I know it is only one small step and I suspect there may be a few more floggings to come before they truly turn the corner, but there was an energy about that team yesterday that indicates to me that Langer has got them on the right track. For the first time in ages I am feeling more positive about the future of WA cricket

I'm not sure that Langer could live with some of the front runners the Warriors have had playing for them for years.

Some of the first gamers looked great . I particularly enjoyed watching Agar bowl.

6 foot five left arm orthodox.

I would love keeping to him.

Nurture him he will be good.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

I really enjoyed watching the game,Warriors were awesome.
Justin Langer giving the young fellas a go is a highlight for me,Agar,Whiteman,Paris and Cartwright whom i think has a lot of potentail.
Heard Hussey may stay on next year, his experience and class will be invaluable.Voges has been great as well.
Well done Justin, you have the team showing some spirit, wanting to win.

I have to agree with all of the above. Especially after today's game. Agar...where did he come from and where has he been??? I've never heard of him before. I've said it before, Behrendorf is a Bruce Reid in the making. Marsh and Voges have certainly silenced their knockers...brilliant innings today. Pity they didn't win a couple earlier games, because they must be the form team atm. Even Mark Waugh had some nice things to say about them :woohoo:
2x25= Seinor and Michael = 1xBrian Peake

not sure why Marsh was coming in at 5 though....he aint gonna win national selection in that position.....coming off 155 and full of confidence, don't understand why Langer had him cool his heels at 5 today......yeah true they weren't cooling for long, but Marsh is either an opener or a number 3....put Hussey at 5 to mop up the predictable WA batting collapse.....oh well that Ryobi cup win was short lived....

fingers crossed Couter-Nile and Agar can limit QLD 1st innings lead to under 100...

looks like Beer will have his work cut out getting his spot with Agar taking wickets and making runs.....still reckon Marsh needs to bat in the top 3.....don't know why Huss is batting 3, how many years has he got left?....surely having him between two youngsters in the middle order guiding them would be better value....
