Which of the following best describes Australia's disappointing performances in the World T20 tournament?:

A. They choked liked Greg Norman
B. They fell like flour down a shute
C. They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory
d. They went down faster than Sonny Liston in his world title rematch against Mohammad Ali.
e. They went down like a lead balloon.
f. They believed their own press.

Fair dinkum to blow 2 winnable games when they had the ascendancy is very disappointing. So much for being one of the favourites before the tournament started.

Thing is Pup who really cares mate......give me a choice of series wins over the English & SA or a T20 world cup.....geez its a no brainer.....T20 is fun to watch but TBH that's all there is to it really.....I'd rather watch that Morkel v Clarke battle any day mate......can't imagine either of Gayle or Sammy having the bottle to do what Clarke did or the technique.....let the WI enjoy their triumph....can't win them all.

Probably all of the above Puppy. Just a few observations on tonight's game

1. Hogg's omission staggered me. Sure he had a poor game against Pakistan but I reckon the Windies would have found it tough to get him away. He would certainly been less expensive than Starc. The pitch was also doing enough to justify 2 front line spinners IMO.

2. Muirhead is definitely a spinner with potential

3. How many more ways of getting out can Watson invent? Tonight he was stumped on the 2nd attempt by Ramdin while his foot was rooted outside his crease.

4.Warner and Finch is not working as an opening stand, they are trying to outdo each other and getting out playing silly shots across the line.

5. Faulkner was actually our best bowler tonight - apart from his last two balls. Just needs to learn to keep his mouth shut.

6. Maxwell has been the positive, he has played brilliantly in both games.

I think it is no coincidence that Australia are low on the world rankings in 20/20, but as freezin said the test wins over England and SA this summer will be remembered long after this tournament is a distant memory.

I agree, flogging the zuids in the tests was number 1, but I can't stand Australia losing anything...even tiddlywinks :pinch: . As for Faulkner - good bowler yeh, but great bowlers don't let that happen in the ultimate over. Oh for an Aussie Alphonso.

yeh, you're right - I was so pssd off, I forgot about Starc's poor effort. As for Doug the Rug, why wouldn't they put him in front of Coults? After all, he is from NSW
