I guess with the footy season in progress, the Sheffield Shield Final, commencing tomorrow has flown under the radar. The warriors seem to possess that one element this season that they were lacking last year, luck.

If the wicket they are playing on in the Final is anything they just played on, in their defeat to NSW, there would be a good chance of an outright result being achieved by either side or at least making a draw difficult to achieve for NSW. Both sides have strong attacks but perhaps vulnerable batting, which would also increase the chance of an outright result being achieved.

The warrior's attack has been very strong all season & hauled them back into the game against NSW, despite only scoring 80 odd in their first innings. The fight back by the batsman in the second innings would give the warriors a great deal of confidence going into the final & also shows that the team has a great deal of heart.

I was disappointed that the warriors were unable to host the finals as I do enjoy watching them live.

It has been amusing listening to the talk on 91.3FM regarding the possibility of WA achieving a dynasty, fark me they should be focusing on winning this one. With Clarke & Bollinger also being unavailable & a fair slice of luck seeming to follow the warriors, I just have a feeling that will pull this match off.

NSW batting 1st 1/136 off 53 @2.57, unless the pitch is bad, one would hope not 1st day NSW are playing for a draw.

I'm only 10 minutes down the road from the game, but stuck at work. Been dropping hints to the bosses, but no cigar... :(

WA are back into the game. Carters threw his wicket away on the stroke of tea & NSW have now lost 3 - 20. From what I was hearing on 91.3, it sounded like the wicket was very good for batting, so WA may be slightly ahead at the moment.

Crikey NSW Wales are now 5/189. Patterson bowled for 9 from the bowling of Behrendorff.

Here is a link to the live score for those that are interested.

There are still 24 overs left in the day, so WA have a wonderful opportunity to take control & dictate the game.

Anchorman - question mate You seem to be on top of most things cricket wise.

Did WA fail to bowl their overs out? I see on the cricket website that they bowled 90 for the day. Isnt it 96 in shield cricket, or do they go back to 90 for the final to try to make it as close as possible to test match conditions?

May have let them back into the game a bit, but when they were 1 for about 160 to have them 6 down for 240 is decent. Need to get an early one tomorrow

anchorman wrote: Ph thanks for the compliment but I only get my informations off the ninemsn site. They have instant score board there.I was under the impression that 90 was the required number of overs, but I could e wrong.
If we can roll them over early in the first session tomorrow and bat well early then it could make for a good game.have to get a good start and put the pressure on then pre lunch.

Anchorman, for the Shield final the requirement is for 90 overs per day over 5 days. This is probably to make the match similar to test conditions. Regular shield games are 96 overs per day for the four days.

Apparently the warriors got back into the game because the bowlers managed to get the ball to reverse. The new ball wasn't doing much at all from what I was hearing on 91.3.

I think the warriors would be reasonably happy with their overall position, as they have not been batted out of the game.
