Well a massive win the so called unelectable Abbott,,that must burn those labor numpties big time.

Finally an end to a, chaoes and instability of the last 6 yrs,

Australia saved in the nick of time, Abottt to be the greatest PM since Howard, looking at 3 terms of power.

Greens a shocking result, Milne a dud.

Palmer a wild card, drew a few votes from the LNP

That loser Rudd will hang around the opposition back benches causing his usuall chaos in the party.

hey cock...we currently have 5.7% unemployment and rising...is that Abbott's fault or the Labor govt's? and a primary reason for rising electricity and gas prices is the carbon tax...is that Abbott's fault or the Labor govt's?

at the end of the day the country spoke. It was a monumental defeat for Rudd.

it was amusing listening to Bob Hawke speaking after Kevin Rudd made his defeat speech. Rudd and his supporters carried on like they had actually won, it was very strange. It was almost like wild celabrations . afterwards all the panalists commented on the ridiculous scenes and how Rudd had almost appeared like he was not in the real world.

Bob Hawke said Rudd must acknowledge the fact this was a demoralizing defeat. I think Mr.Hawke was bemused by what he saw and in a way he seemed embarrassed for the Labor Party, with all the carry on at that Rudd charade. The panalists seemed to be having quite a good laugh at it all.

I think the bottom line is, Kevin Rudd was the worst thing to ever happen to this party. Since he became prime minister, it has been a total mess, from his sacking, to the complete and utter dissention, to his return which has been a failure of massive proportions. I cannot see how he can smile so much like he did in the aftermath. His wife certainly looked uncomfortable during the whole process. She wore the most uncomfortable smile I have ever seen. It must have been killing her. AT least its all over now. This election has been excruciating for all of us.,

Hows it going BC, quick question did our state power bills go up 80/90% due to the carbon tax? remembering of course that this only happened under Barnett!

fair point po cocko...but that's a state issue...Abbott won't have any bearing on future rises because state govt's set utility prices except where its impacted by a federal policy such as the carbon tax.

I noticed they are going to have a investigation into the Senate paper.
Funny that as I noticed a few could of been confused.
Ok you only had to put 1 in the box but the Liberal Democrat was near the top and the Liberal was down the bottom.
I wonder how many put a 1 in the Liberal democrat box by mistake?
Apparently in NSW the Liberal Democrat will get a Senate seat due to the fact a lot there put a 1 in his/her box..

Senate is a worry but like one Lib pollie said they would rather talk to the balance of power being the Sports,Zenophon, and a couple of other miscellaneious parties than try and bargain with the GREENS!!!!
This message represents the official view of the voices in my head

the senate situation is a joke.

firstly there are way too many looney parties and nut jobs nominating...this needs to be addressed by increasing the nomination fee and lifting the threshold for refunds.

secondly the the preference dealing is all over the place, and is not known..generally i sus out who is getting preferences before i nominate above the line, most people dont, most palmer voters would not know they were voting for the greens via preferences.

its a disgrace a decent bloke like Nick Xenophone can't get his second senator up despite geting almost the 2 quota figure.

the greens vote got smashed coast to coast and they should not be rewarded,

the Lib Dem vote was a joke as well.

highjacking major party names is a scam.

needs urgent attention.

looks like the palmer/xenophone/sports/lib demo/ combination should be enough to do business with.

jardine spot on.

a bigger win by Abbott than KRudd in 2007 over Howard.

the only one that spoke sense was hawke, he genuinely looks horrified at those stupid scenes in Brisbane.

Rudd is a weirdo - everyone knows it, his behaviour at the loss confirmed this.

Did you notice he had is own Yellow Balloons, not the corporate ALP colours..and those stupid hired chinese students in the crowd and running with him with the t shirts to take off..talk about pathetic.

I remember when Malcolm Fraser lost in 1983, he was devasted, and I remember Keating going down in 96, Beasly v Howard and even when Hayden lost v Fraser,,,all of them were devasted..Rudd was the worst thing apart from Latham I guess and Gillard...for the alp.

He has resigned his leadership..but will hang around like the nut he is. Why Why Why,,??

Who will they chuck in as the early stop gap..I reckon ALBO for a stint...then Shorten for a real crack.
