BH not for the first time are we not in agreement. Due process needs to be done to ensure the fairness and legality of this situation. It is a joke that Malthouse has stuck his beak in to this situation. Call me cynical, but it does seem to me to be a case that he is in trouble with respect to Carlton's position on the ladder and he is doing his bit to wreak havoc on Essendon's second half. His motivation, in my own opinion, is one of complete and utter self-interest.

With respect to the AFL's involvement, I don't think they necessarily have a role. It should be between WADA, ASADA and the AFL club(s) and player(s).

It should be further noted that any player found to be in breach has the right of appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

I suspect that some players may be found to have breached the WADA code and will receive a suspension as a consequence. I also suspect that there may be some changes to the coaching personnel at Essendon for 2014. In addition, I suspect that the AFL will impose a fine on Essendon as a consequence.

Getting to the booing of Watson by the Eagles' supporter(s) one should be charitable and acknowledge that they were able to recognise Watson.

The poor boy finished the game in tears…care factor of zero, cry us a river? seems he did...

Jobe Watson is lucky the AFL is a joke, any other sporting organisation around the globe would of suspended him immediately upon hearing his admission, and Vlad speaks about integrity in our game.

Yep, I really dont care if Watson cried, I dont care about either the eagles or essedon.,,but I am totally bemused at how eagles fans can take the moral high ground of drug issues.

It is nothing different to how the Victorians reacted to the weagles and cousins, to how they react to creully when tags, or how they react to the maggotts.

For god sake 42 Watson admitted he had been injected up to 40 times with a banned substance & yet the AFL led by a bloke on a salary of $2 million+ a year has not suspended him from playing!!
Most other sporting bodies in the world who had a player admit guilt would have suspended him the next day but not the wholier than thou AFL who have sat on their hands!
The AFL allegedly forced St Kilda's hand in regards to giving Milne a "holiday" at the lowly unpopular Saints with womens round coming up & he has only been charged at this point not convicted but have done SFA when it has involved one of their "cash cows" in Essenscum!!

I will see you at Basso tomorrow. However, not wanting to be overly pedantic what Watson has said is that he was injected with AOD and it was on the understanding that it was not a banned substance. He has specifically not admitted any quilt whatsoever.

What needs to be determined is whether there is any basis for Watson's belief. That will occur as part of the WADA/ASADA's inquiry and that determination will form the basis of what, if any, sanction Watson gets.

Ok can you please ignore my ignorance but at the time of the injecting of the drug into Watsons body was it illegal and or a banned drug.

I cant seem to get a handle on what's the truth.

it was banned then and is banned now...its a strict liability offence and according to ASADA's own rules he must be suspended for at least 6 months.
