So that incompetent political hack Cook has finally been told by his own people that this act should be done away with and revert back to the existing act. He finally realised that what he and the old emperor tried to bully everyone into, just wont work. The arrogance of the whole process was spectacular to say the least and has shown that Cook is not fit for the office he holds, Rita must have a rye smile on her dial as its just a matter of time before Cook stuffs up again and the Labs will have no option but to show Cooked the door. The polling is showing a huge change in many voters minds and if current trends hold, which they will while Cooked has his hand on the tiller, The next election will be a very very close run thing.

Yes the juukan gorge law was rushed through parliament very quickly at the time. That means the opposition must have voted in favour.
This morning the state govt finally realise they over-stepped the mark and the new act has now been scrapped. Apparently the state govt will revert too working under the 1972 legislation with some improvements added.

ABC's Peter Kennedy nailed it. He said Albanese most likely phoned Cook and told him to scrap it because people are associating the WA Aboriginal Heritage act with the Voice referendum. You betya it is Albo that's a very good example of how you will turn Australia into a basket case.

well this was a disaster and it is actual thought out, written legislation. Wait until the voice comes around which is just open ended make it up as you go rubbish.

I see Aboriginal culture as one where they believe they shouldn’t have to work and expect the white man to provide an endless stream of money. That’s what the voice is fighting for, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!!!!

I reckon the minority of Aboriginal people who do work and get off their ass like we have to couldn’t give two hoots about a voice because they know it doesn’t matter what colour you are the same laws and rules apply in life. You have your good days and your bad days. If you don’t get off your ass and do it good fortune isn’t going to just fall into your lap.

But if he gets this Voice up, it will be open slather, just trying to keep a lid on things to sneak it through.

                Excuse me for wandering off topic. It sounds to me the current prime minister is either, a) been sucked in, or b) unclear what's really happening, or c) not being completely honest. For example the voice document is not a 1 page paper. Why try say it is, and not mention the other 25 or 26 pages? If the voice vote were held this week it would fail from what I've heard. If the referendum confirms a no vote, it will provide huge problems for the pm because all this stuff has gone too far.
Govt should be working through issues first before the referendum. Not trying to push it on everyone and we all pick up the pieces later!!
