Under FOI, documents obtained by Labor show Greg Hunt's office took two months to respond to emails from Pfizer which included a request for a meeting in early July 2020 at the earliest convenience. I'm over it, I don't have much confidence the other mob are going to be much better but this type of arrogance is just unacceptable. They need to get a kick up the arse by the "Quiet Australians" at the next election. Don't fuck up your next opportunity in government Labor.

Add that to their failure to add a clawback clause should big business forecasts of a greater than 30% drop in sales not materialise while there was one for small business. Gutless going after the battlers while handing the big end of town a huge free kick they weren’t entitled to. I’m done with our government.

They made it legal to tell a lie and rip off millions of tax payers dollars without any requirement to pay it back. If that’s not gross incompetence I don’t know what is. Anyone who has innocently wrongly claimed a government payment and told they have to pay it back has a right to tell them to fuck off.

SloMo is going to need to conjure up all his magic marketing dust to spin his way out of this one.

What is most striking about those emails is the stunning ineptitude of the Federal bureaucracy to grasp the urgency of the situation and expedite their usual morning-tea laden, ambling, soporific processes. To think supplies of Pfizer were held up by some pissant public servant legal beak melting over a non-disclosure agreement is a fkn disgrace.

What this pandemic has exposed more than anything is the abject ineptitude of public administration in this country. Why the fk do we have a FEDERAL Department of Health or FEDERAL Department of Education when the States deliver these services???

Our political system is rooted, our political leaders are shite and our bureaucrats, if they aren't sucking up to the mobs they are supposed to be regulating (think banks, aged care, casinos) are so fkn incompetent they can't organise a signature for a NDA.

God have mercy on our souls.

DD I just heard some political analysis about this on the radio.Around May last year the Federal Government was only interested in Astra Zenica.Because it could be manufactured locally. And was a vaccine made along traditional vaccine manufacturing methods.
Pfizer was a vaccine made a new kind of way.To the way it's allways been done before. For the reason of making the vaccine safer for people to take.Less potant than AZ but safer. They also believed they didn't have the capacity to make Pfizer locally.

Don't wish to wander off topic. Probably needs a separate heading. Hope I'm not the only one that's noticed the MONUMENTAL DOUBLE STANDARDS employed by some federal politicians, state premiers and others whom should know better.

Geezus, just watched this story on tonight’s ABC news and it paints this government in a really bad light. That has to spell the death knell for this government. One major fuck up too many that has cost lives and cost the Australian economy billions.

Good news for ScoMo is he can create the travel rules for Australians who are fully vaxed and can book his next family trip to Hawaii as a former Prime Minister.

Agree the Government has made some bad decisions or non decisions as the case may be, but there is no precedent for what has happened in the last couple of years, just about every government around the world has made monumental fuckups, Sweden is probably the worst one where they simply ignored the virus for the first 12 months then, after vast numbers of their elderly had died, realised they got it wrong. No one new how to handle this thing and the fact that any sort of Vax was created so quickly is a modern medical miracle. I'm giving the Govt some latitude based on this and I'm not sure the little socialist would have done any better given everyone has been dealing with a complete unknown. That being said the Govt would not want to make any more stuff ups from here on.

Old Morrison has finally announced his retirement from politics and leaving parliament at the end of February twenty 24. Obviously sitting on the back bench since losing the last election not to his liking. Cannot push his weight around and get his own way on the lowly back bench. He won't be seeking employment as an apprentice or a TA role because it's not his job to sweep a broom or hold the hose mate!

Yes ScoMo is an arrogant prick religious nutbag, but no more arrogant than past PM's of all persuasions and doing exactly what past PM's and state premiers have done and are doing, that is, head to the private sector and a well paid gig in consulting. Obviously took a leaf out of Rudd's book and our former state emperor. The last thing parties want are has-been PM's and ministers clogging up back bench positions.
