Just logged onto Our ABC.

Far out they hate Australians.

Two of today’s 1st 10 stories bemoaning what a racist country we are.

The rest calling every government agency inept.

I’m sick and tired of it.

Nothing new about that - they have been trying to drag the country down since the 1960s.

Apparently they had to pay out $100,000.00 towards Porters Legal Costs, but they wont learn from it.

Do you have a link stating that the ABC is paying Porter's legal costs?  From the reports I have read and heard the ABC were not paying Porter's legal costs.

The ABC statement reads , they paid for Porters "mediation and associated costs".

Porter has not had to pay the ABC a cent.

Around $10,000 not $100,000 that was associated with the mediation process.

Like I said, both sides playing tit for tat trying to claim the high moral ground of who blinked first. Clearly the ABC is not backing down and backing its journalist 100%. I imagine if the ABC has only agreed to pay his mediation costs then this episode has cost Porter a big chunk of money in the six figures easily. Maybe he can pass the hat around next time he’s out with his new flame at a dinner party among the elite who’s a high profile criminal lawyer.
Get on your bike.

Incorrect it was a six figure sum, the senate hearings may confirm this.

ABC had to print a clarification statement which said the allegations failed to meet the civil or criminal standard of proof. to Porters satisfaction. And to admit it could have been misleading and that they regretted that.  I repeat... "regretted"

They also issued instructions to their staff not to broadcast they had "won" the case.

Just remind me how much Porter paid the ABC ?

Standing by its staff 100% :)

ABC managing director David Anderson offered a face-to-face apology to Christian Porter for a series of social media posts by two of his senior journalists in the aftermath of the defamation matter involving the public broadcaster and the former attorney-general.

Formal mediation between Mr Porter and the ABC had only just concluded on Monday when Mr Anderson approached the Industry Minister to express his disappointment that the tweets by Four Corners reporter Louise Milligan and the show’s executive producer, Sally Neighbour, had tarnished what was achieved at the legal discussions earlier in the day, and had undone the goodwill between them.

Bazza I think you might be barking at the moon. Porter filed a defamation law suit against the ABC and has withdrawn it. Game over. He conceded.

Has it been taken down?  Did Porter receive any damages?  Did Porter receive an apology?

It remains with correction, he received a payment from the ABC and the ABC apologised for its employees misguided comments and false vitriol today, perhaps you can take a leaf from that.

Its called mediated settlement - its normal in the process for the writ to be concluded when the plaintiff is happy with settlement once the ABC said they would not defend further, game over in Porters favour.
