Once again we have a construction company falling over in debt, leaving many out of pocket and failing to honour their creditors.

What is the bet the directors still have their riverside mansions and boats and will walk away and set up again as a new company next year.

I thought a labour government might look at protecting the workers, the subbies and apprentices that will be stung by this failure. Isn't that what labour governments do? I thought they had legislation that guaranteed that suppliers and sub-contractors would get their money first?

Oh hang on, this is Emperor McGoo and Labour Lite, more interested in the big end of town. makes you wonder why the landslide election win when policy wise you would struggle to find many major differences, plus they are too busy dodging responsibility for a failed health system (read letters to the Ed in todays West .... not the one bleeding heart that supports them)
too busy blaming the horrendously overworked and under resourced doctors and nurses for their own failures and disinterest.

In the middle of a boom and during Covid companies, even WAFL footballl clubs profited huge from Jobkeeper. This has got a huge stench to it. Where has the money gone? Send in the sniffer dogs and throw the book at them. Lock them up.

Couldn't agree more DD, there's something rotten in Pindanland, but if they have failed then something needs to be done for the subbies and suppliers. There needs to be an insurance fund set aside by Builders and developers, the MBA and HIA that covers them in these situations, the insurance company can then go after the company and it's directors to get what they can.

Doing business with Pindan has never been easy. When it comes to getting paid. They where one of the builders/ developers. Who would hire 457 workers over local workers. When that was allowed during the era of the Barnett government.Which smashed all award paying subcontractors out of business.
It also dropped there return as the builder and developer.Everything is 25% more expensive than 2016..That's why homebuilders are increasing there prices asap.Pindan are locked in to complex tender arrangements all priced on 2016 rates.

Nah mate...the Freo council couldn't give a rats about that. Far more important is renaming Kings Square than actually being accountable for spending ratepayers money.

Spot on mate, the nutjobs have renamed Kings Square which has had that name since it was laid out in 1833, because of a far left political agenda, wrecking the historic nature of the town layout, The whole thing demonstrates why far left socialist are useless at business , they have handed over $20 Million for this unfinished concrete monstrosity and are mired in debt.

Gee I look back at the great mayors of the past and think what a clown show this mob is, they need the likes of Peter Tags back.

Yep...Peter is a terrific bloke and was an excellent Mayor. I also recall that the old girls at his shop Interfoods on South Terrace made the best continental rolls in Perth right before your eyes...bring back the good old days I say....

Yes, I only walked past former interfoods shop the other day, that along with a lot of other businesses are either gone or about to go, as the FCC demands higher rates to pay off debt more will leave.

I have moved recent replies to a new City of Fremantle thread in The Bar as requested. OFA
