These two mining magnates are filthy rich billionaires from the resources of this state they grew up in. In times of crisis these two need to step up and build new purpose built quarantine centres. AMA president Dr Andrew Miller has said it doesn't need to be anything fancy made from bricks and mortar, it can be done using transportables and sea containers. These two mining magnates know all about building site camps so they are already experts. They just need the government to provide the land and medical experts to help with the design requirements.

China built pop up hospitals within days at the height of this crisis in China. No we are not China but you can't tell me if these two minds come together and say we want to do something that will free up hotels for what they are built for and it will keep the economy open and help bring more people back home then surely the government both state and federal would support the idea.

This could be built within a couple of months if the will is there from all sides.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

While those two are west Aussies they are but wo of dozens of Australians in the Billions/multi millionaire group. While it should be the Feds that do this as its their constitutional responsibility, a co-op of Australias rich elite could well shame the Feds into doing the right thing. There are Govt owned facilities purpose built just for quarantine that sit idle, while not fit for purpose hotels in CBD's are being used. One in the NT can cope with 1500 people, has a medical centre, accom for staff and an international grade runway. whats stopping these government numpties, it's midboggling!!

They pay enough tax to build 100 already.

Forrest also has the Mondaroo Foundation.

Personally I think its time they sponsored WAFL.

How about the Federal government providing the infrastructure to replace hotel quarantining?  Then contact Qantas and charter the required number of aeroplanes and flight crew to bring back the ex-Aussies wanting to come back to Australia.

Also, require any Aussie leaving Australia from now on as a condition of leaving Australia that apart from repatriation from NZ it will be that person's own responsibility.  Of course there would be some exceptions to that rule such as Medecins Sans Frontieres providing humanitarian services.

Personally I would like to see a long term solution, and I think that means re opening national quarantine stations, this problem will be with us for years yet.
