Well there you have it Trumpers.

1 person already dead, 5 shoot and the Capitol attacked and Congress over run for the first time since 1812, a mob using thug like tactics to close down democracy.

Thats the legacy of Trump, the biggest Scumbag in US history..

And Thousands dead with Covid,

No Jail is bad enough for this cretin.

Georgia was a great result, as well GOP have lost the lot.

The scenes from Washington underline the effect that the outgoing psychopathic cretin that is Trump has had on the USA. he is now officially certifiable. To insight domestic terrorism must be a criminal act and any ideas the psychopath had for another tilt at the White house in 2024 must be gone, hopefully he will still be incarcerated when the next election comes around, either in a federal prison or in a psychiatric ward with a sign on the door "never to be released".

The whole US system is pharked, they claim to be the great democracy, how can that be when 1 individual has so much power, the power to act unilaterally, the power to veto legislation by the Congress and Senate, how is that democratic, it just takes one unhinged individual to almost bring their system down, an individual like Trump. The Westminster system craps all over the US system, our PM is simply the first minister, chair of the board and as we have seen can be easily removed from office if they do not do the right thing. The US seriously need to reduce the presidents powers or inevitably, this will happen again.

Fantastic news that the Dems have control of both houses and can implement their programmes without being held to ransom by the extremist fascist right wing elements of the Republican party. We may actually see some changes in the US, changes that show some social conscience and changes that create a workable health system, something that Covid has sadly shown just doesn't exist in the USA

Could be difficult without control of the house and now the senate thanks to the Orange man baby. Anyway Trump is now very much yesterday's man baby - perhaps best that the incoming government attempt to deradicalize the few remaining hillbillies loyal to him . Will be difficult because they are all dimmer than a 5 watt bulb - but not impossible either.

Agree 100%.

They are trying to remove him early now and invoke s 25, its sounding like his cabinet are saying he is becoming more and more unstable, Pence has been written to formally to commence removal. No sure if he will act.

Yep our system craps on the US, and this is something that is not unusual with republics, its why depots love them in Africa and South America, they only really work OK when the center is strong and you have a level of civility once that goes and you end up in a tonne of shit.

Have a look at Australia, Canada and NZ - there is a lot to like about the Constitutional Monarchy and Westminster Parliamentary Democracy, power is much more spread and balanced as you say.

If you say so DD - I would put the figure of those behind the pathetic coup attempt today at considerably less. Not surprised that you would think in such simple terms though.

The other thing is - whoever was responsible for the security in Washington DC needs to answer some serious questions about the lack of preparation and security - they had weeks to prepare and secure the main buildings with adequate barriers and officers.
