Do you guys really honestly think the fine Indigenous folk who roam the streets of Perth and Northbridge are going to walk up to foreign students, roll out the red carpet with their hand extended and big smile on their face and burst into a ceremony of Welcome to Country? I think they'll get the shock of their lives.

I hope to be proven wrong but I suspect it's going to cost us taxpayers a fortune in extra police.

Not hard to see what will happen.
The state government will allow all the chinese uni students to enrol there, whom will simply be used as a never ending cash cow.
The chinese will then start controlling the joint and do exactly the same as what happens elsewhere.
I do hope I'm wrong and my view is incorrect. Don't wish to sound negative although nowadays it's hard not to be sometimes.

I don't have a problem with international students per se WAG as they pay overs for their education and contribute to the economy. I did an MBA at Murdoch Uni about 15 years ago and there were literally thousands of Asian students living in surrounding suburbs with sometimes 4 or 5 to a room, surviving for a month on a cooked chook and a bag of rice but pretty much going about their business and keeping to themselves. Quite a few could hardly speak English let alone write it so not sure how they passed exams and stuff but that's another story I guess.

BC you bring back wonderful memories for me.
I spent a lot of time with the Asian students in our work groups at Uni, helping them understand our vernacular in return for them explaining their culture.
It has assisted me along the way helping my clients do business in Asia.
Local business students embracing the overseas students leads to all sorts of wonderful opportunities which can only benefit our economy.

DD you do realise that the majority of the serious assaults in Northbridge are done by young white males tanked up on booze and or meth, sure there is an indigenous component as well but that's mostly drunk and verbally abusive in public or public damage. I'll stand corrected on this but the news reporting of assaults by "light skinned" or "dark skinned" individuals bears this out. Dont worry about the Asians, they can look after themselves. the money they bring into this area once the Uni is up and running will finance all sorts of projects in the area including increased security.

The vast majority of Asian students are head down bum up studying in their spare time, they are normally under massive pressure of expectations from their families to achieve to be spending time trying to take anything over. What they do bring is truckloads of money and a demand for services in that local area that is viatl to the local economy. You may be concerned about mainland chinese students, but most of the ethnic chinese are coming from Hong Kong, Indo Malaysia and Singapore, plus an ever increasing number of Indian Students, so we'll never be short of an Uber driver!!

Its well documented the influence the CCP has been having on Australian Unis as a result of their reliance on Chinese students and the money they bring in.

I was walking across Barrack from Hay , 9.15am Tuesday, and a group was walking across shouting "C" at people, and the a bit further down at the front of the now abandoned Barrack Commonwealth Bank , a couple were fighting with one giving another a massive right fisted punch in the head on the footpath near the road. That was after I had walked over the deros sleeping in Hay st Mall The CBD is a real crap hole.

Exactly it's a very bad reflection on our law and order system and lack of will on the part of the Perth City Council to clean up the streets that have been taken over by the homeless, meth zombies, deros and those just plain looking for trouble and to intimidate people going about their day.

And in regard your previous post, yep CCP will be looking to interfere and just wait for the violence between Chinese and Hong Kong students.
