Interesting story WAG.Gm pulled the plug on Holden and the right hand drive market in February this year.Without proper compensation to the Holden dealers. Not only did there executives refuse to front up to the Senate enquirey. They also sent back 20 million of AU tax payer $ to Detroit.
Ateco spent over 100 million on converting there Melbourne factory into a right hand drive facility.. The popularity of the Ram 1500 has the factory doing a 24\7 operation,3 shifts a day. There is little interest in the Silverado or Camaro .And probably less in a $150,000 Corvette.. You can buy German for that money or a 75k GT Mustang.

How stupid is it to bring those big yank tanks to our roads which are not built for those sized vehicles. I’ve never been to the USA but by the looks on tv their lanes look a hell of a lot wider than ours which seem to be getting narrower and narrower. Makes it impossible to see passed them and when they are parked on the side of the road, impossible to see what’s coming if you are pulling out of a driveway or carpark.

What should we expect from a country that lacks any real moral compass and votes in a self serving psychopathic liar and egomaniac as president.

I really wonder what the ruling body (is it ANCAP?) are thinking when they allow such ridiculous sized cars when our roads are not built for it. Another thing I hate is LED lights on cars. Worst thing that ever happened. I drive for a living and I can tell you those things are dangerous, they blind you. It is like the car coming towards you is on high beam.

Some are ok but most aim too high or their headlights are just out of alignment. Or when the car bobs up and down over bumps or speed humps the difference is incredible. They are unnecessary and should be banned. White light is unnecessary on cars. Why do they make street lights and amber colour? So it is a more natural light easier on the eye and doesn't reflect like white light.

Even LED tail lights are ridiculously bright and totally unnecessary. It is like there is a competition going on between manufacturers who can make the brightest lights.

at the sort of money it will cost to own any one of these things they'll be shutting it down very early - just about all of them will start at around $100 K minimum

This is probably a cheapshot due to having to pay out many dealerships shafted by GMC - it'll sink quickly unless the prices are slashed dramatically to compete with Ford

I wouldn't touch anything GM after what they did full stop

Dont think the cost will deter those who want to drive a tank, check the price of any of the euro SUV's or a top of the range V8 Landcruiser, you wont get much change out of $150k and there's plenty on the road, but agree these giant "pick-up trucks" are rediculous.
