i am glad the dixies have been caught out- it was a stupid name for left wingers to use in contemporary America. Where are Neil Young and lynnard skinner when you need them?

Well said, StT. ?

Ark - the Dixie Chicks have been that since 1989, and as they originated in Texas well before the current statue tearing and BLM movements, the name does not seem that stupid.

Whether they should have changed it prior to now (if at all) is a matter of personal judgement.

jack: see my reference to skinner and young; they were singing on opposites sides of the white south issue for decades, and, i am sure, were well known by the Dixie Chicks; they knew what they were doing when they took the name. 'Dixie' is a name associated with the pre- Civil War South, it is that simple.

do you remember RE lee the car in the 'dukes of hazard'? Or, for that matter, the granny on the 'beverley hillbillies' referring to Jefferson Davis as the 'president'?

The funny thing is that George Washington and Thomas Jefferson would have both agreed with the granny. This is the heart of America's dilemma.
