I'm going to a lunch at PCEC on 4 December hosted by the Chinese Dept of Foreign Affairs. Whilst it's mainly an information session on PRC's Belt and Road Initiative they're also covering off on foreign policy so I'll let you know what comes out of it.

I hope that lunch is here in Perth BC or we may never see you again mate. I mean just look at what happened to a Chinese national who was a whistle blower for ASIO and later found dead in his hotel room. Hope they don’t find out you are the whistle blower for Ozfooty BC. :woohoo:

Yes mate...Perth Convention and Entertainment Centre...so all good. It should be an interesting session as there's some pretty heavy hitters presenting including His Excellency the Ambassador. It remains to be seen if they'll mention the HK situation.

Hopefully China comes to its senses and sees Hong Kong as the Democratic and economic powerhouse and tourist meca it has been over the past 50 years and just be grateful it is part of China and a cash machine for China. But the way it is going they are destroying what has made Hong Kong what is, or was.

A good article here on the shape of the world and how the US is responsible for a fair bit of the unrest.

Almost the "perfect storm", isn't it BC.

Widespread access and exposure to the internet (World Wide Web) enabling people to develop, and then reinforce their political perspective and grievances.

Coupled with a WTF!!! is going on here, when the 50% can now see what the ultra-rich 2-3% are up to - it ain't gunna' end well.

Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette anyone?

What’s that got to do with Hong Kong? Thank fuck we’ve got a world leader standing up to China is all I can say otherwise they would be even more bullish than they already are. Better pray that useless Nancy Pelosi isn’t successful with her goal of impeaching Donald Trump. Then we’ll be screwed.

Gee Hong Kongers might be the only ones celebrating this Corona virus. They’re probably thinking couldn’t have come at a better time and good karma for the Chinese Communist regime. I can’t remember Hong Kong being in the news since this virus first hit the headlines.

Just did a Google search and found this report. Seems the Corona virus is having a massive impact on the Hong Kong economy probably due to travel restrictions in China.

With all the protesting and unrest of last year, could it have all been for nothing?
Said news article is not painting a good picture!
