Sneakers presser today announced that starting Monday week the 19th, new relaxations of restrictions, upping to max 20 in a gathering, bars and restaurant can open with seating up to 20 plus the 4m2 rule, intrastate boundaries reduced to 4 zones, wheatbelt, southwest will combine with the metro area, non contact sporting activities can resume. Then 4 weeks after that, public swimming pools and playgrounds will re-open, contact sporting activities can resume, so thats when full contact training can resume and games can be played, the missing link will be how many can attend if any. State hard border will stay in place for the foreseeable until the eastern states get their shit together and have long term low or no infections. So some light at the end of the tunnel as long as we dont get overconfident. Hospitals are now geared up to cope with up to 600 cases at any one time if a second wave occurs, so it's a case of living with the virus and managing it until a vacs comes along.

I am still hopeful that things will have relaxed sufficiently for me to fly back to Perth in mid-July, to celebrate my 21st birthday, and get a new visa from the Thai consulate.

You will be lucky if that can happen by mid July 2021 Jack.

You would think our state borders would open a few weeks before Xmas.Unless NSW keep the 3rd world response to Covid-19.
Our international borders could be closed for another 18 months. Or when we find a cure for this pandemic. Apart from expats or travel from NZ.
Now channel 9 reporting of another possible pandemic on the horizon.Coming out of Hong Kong.Hepatitis E spread from rats to humans. Spread through the drinking water. The disease attacks the body's kidneys and can't be detected in the blood stream. Only 10 confirmed cases ATM.

Bit underwhelmed but better than nothing.

Thought it was crazy to wait until Sunday for the announcement, and then wait until the 18th to action them..basically lost two weeks..you could of let them open from midnight Sunday then left it up to them to get organized lead up wise. Some small places could of been up and running this mroning.

Also the pub rule is total BS, you shouldn't have to have a meal to go in, walking in and sitting at a table for a drink would of been fine, having to employ a cook with just 20 patrons is unviable.

Mate its an utter joke , the mrs and i went up to kings park for a 10km walk Sunday ( great day weather wise and I have never seen it so packed, every bit of lawn was full side by side with people having picnics, fair dinkum it was packed,I mean it was sensational to see so many folks enjoying the park and the conditions, but it was worse than having a quiet beer in a pub by far.

there would be more people inside big shopping centres than you would ever get at a WAFL game so work that out and one is indoor and one outdoor yet WAFL or any community sport isnt cleared to play.
makes no sense.

Politicians and medicos are all well aware what is happening at shopping centres and they always turn a blind eye and let it pass through to the keeper.

If I were a restaurant owner I'd put a time limit on diners of say 45 minutes. That way you could have maybe 3 services at 5:45, 6:30 and 7:15 representing 60 covers on nights when you're open which would make it worthwhile.
