Simon Garlick is our new CEO. Ex Bulldogs and Sydney Swans player and former Bulldogs CEO and Director he is no rookie appointment. Been a very good past week or so with some very good and important appointments. Unlike Adelaide who it seems is imploding and most of the coaching candidates pulling out of the race.

Real happy about Josh Carr returning to the club also as a senior assistant coach. He is going to be great with our young list I reckon.

I think our new CEO will prove to be one of the recruits of the season. Great football background on and off the field and high end experience in the corporate world outside of footy. Welcome to Fremantle Simon Garlick

Both Wa clubs are pretty easy to be ceo of I reckon, big markets, big crowds, big media attention. But if Garlick did a good job at the Bulldogs, then he definitely knows his stuff. I've often wondered what these Ceos get paid, would they be on more dough than the top players?

Garlick from his CV etc seems a considered appointment as CEO. No doubt being a CEO of one of the AFL clubs in Victoria (like the Bulldogs) which aren't your traditional high profile ones certainly makes it a harder gig for mine - time of course will show whether they have made the right call.
I wouldn't imagine that CEO's are on the same as the top players - they would certainly be above the average though. Don't think there would be any below 500k and wouldn't surprise to see some on more - simple way for this be found out though, which is in each clubs financial reports for the year.
Carr for mine looks like a good get - sure he must be mates with Longmuir, I would bloody well hope he is. What sort of newly brings in assistants he doesn't know well, aren't referred to him and he needs to know he can work with . That's just common sense.
Whether it be a Malthouse, Parkin, Blight, Worsfold, Longmire, Clarkson, Matthews, Simpson et al - they all brought in people they know. I don't see how that is jobs for the boys - it's just common sense

Garlick has been very well respected in the AFL scene for a long time now. Much as I dislike to say this, but I think the dorks have picked up a good one. Unimpeded, I think he may help to gain Freo some respect. Depends whether Freo want it.
