It's a fine line between winning and losing, none so more than a 1 point win in a low scoring affair. I think there wasn't a goal scored in the last 15 minutes of the game just 6 behinds by both sides, that is very unusual.

I thought one passage of play showed what Griffen Logue is capable of, not sure what qtr i think the last. He started with an attack on the ball deep in the backline and finished on the wing and must have laid 5 or 6 tackles and pressure acts and it didn't go unnoticed by his team mates. Hopefully his body stands up to the rigors of AFL football, he looks like a beast and probably played his best game so far.

Big Sandi, I don't care about age this man is so rare I would love to see him go around again. I think he will be of enormous value to the development of Sean Darcy even if it means both of them will not play every game next year. Love seeing the big guy out there.

I thought Brayshaw showed he has a great work rate it's just his finishing that worries me, he did kick the winning point and the hack kick into our forward 50 just before the siren.

The crowd of just over 33.000 for me is a reflection of what the Freo fans feel about Ross Lyon as much as anything on the back of fans calling for his head. Freo hierarchy and board take notice.

That game convinced me that my thoughts are right. Are there 2 more boring teams to watch than Sydney and Freo?

A win is a win no matter how it comes about although I thought the skill level and efficiency of both sides was pretty ordinary and in particular Freo. In saying that, it was pretty slippery on the night but the unforced turnovers weren't great. Luke Ryan must be in All Australian conversation and agree with your comments re Sandi...but the big problem is keeping him on the park. Freo with a full squad available will do some damage next year but I certainly don't think Lyon is the person for the job...he's stuck in a mould that the modern game has moved on from.

Ok, fair enough. I’m positive that Sydney and Freo are the most boring teams to watch.

DD why on earth did Ross Lyon drop Logue last week for the Hawks game?
I thought he was far from their worst in the Derby and surely getting afl games into him whilst Pearce is out injured would be far more beneficial than playing at Peelmantle.

On Lyon dropping Logue last week it’s the same old chorus “trying to make some sense of it all, but I can see it makes no sense at all”

The positives from the Sydney win is that Ross stays next year & wont be at Carlton, North or St Kilda..

They're positives for Carlton, Norths and StK but what about Freo?

I was channel surfing between the Dockers v Sydney game and the Brisbane V North and as far as the entertainment value was concerned the Brisbane game was streets ahead. I feel sorry for the Dockers members who have to endure this style of footy week in, week out. He has a decent list but his game plan is superseded and it drags opposition teams down to Freo's level. On the topic of the thread I guess the positives are that they managed to win without their best player, Their defence stood up well and Sandi made a difference in that last desperate 5 minutes. Also liked Hamlings game.
