Wet Toast obviously go in as raging favorites and it's going to take a big effort for everyone to step up in the absence of Nat Fyfe though seen him interviewed at Cottesloe surf club this morning where they are training and he still hasn't ruled himself out. Hard to believe he will play but I see Tom Rockliff has been ruled fit to play after also suffering from concussion last weekend.

I think for us we need to get Jesse Hogan going on the scoreboard to feed off that energy and it will be interesting to see who RL matches up on the Gov. I suspect Sean Darcy will come in with Lobb as support to match up against Vardy and Hickey. The match ups at either ends of the ground will be a treat to watch but the Eagles hold a big advantage in the middle of the ground and I suspect that is where the game will be won and lost. We need big games from Mundy, Walters, Cerra, Brayshaw, Langdon, Tucker and Banfield.

And another solid performance from Brandon Matera is in order please.

Well Ross has chosen to go small and Lobb as the No 1 ruckman. Shultz and Switowski come in so no doubt he's looking for more run and defensive pressure. Taberner will wax with Lobb in the ruck. The axe fell on Banfield and obviously Fyfe is out.

I think its the right move by Lyon DD to go in small if they are to cause an upset. Mcgovern, Barass, and Hurn aren't troubled by talls. They probably aren't troubled by smalls either I suppose but its their best bet.
And entirely predictable that Lobb is playing as a ruckman already after being recruited on the "fingers crossed" promise of playing as a forward. Sandilands is finished and Darcy has always struggled to stay on the park.

Have only seen the last 5 minutes or so of the game but not sure I can put myself through watching a game with that scoreline. Shit goal kicking is shit football but I suppose we can take something out of a 13 point loss to the best side in the competition. Many sides will cop a flogging from WC.

So why were we in the game right up until the last couple of minutes? Did our back line hold up well? Kennedy, Darling, Allen, Ryan and Cripps scored 8 goals between them while Taberner, Hogan, McCarthy, Walters and Matera scored 7 between them so no great difference in forward line production there. I'm guessing the Eagles were cleaner and more efficient particularly in the first qtr. We outscored the Eagles 7.9 to 5.8 after qtr time.
