Just had a look at Freo's list and came up with the following, would be interested in any thoughts from Anchorman JB or others

B Langdon Hamling Cox
HB Wilson Pearce Colyer
C S Hill Mundy Brayshaw
HF Walters Lobb Conca
FF Cerra Hogan B Hill
F Sandilands Fyfe Blakely
I/C Matera Darcy Ryan Banfield

Others: Logue, Ballantyne, Tucker, Crowden, Bennell, Hughes, Taberner, McCarthy, Kersten, Duman.

This list doesnt include the recent draftees some of whom I think will be pushing up for a debut this year. Also there are two on the rookie list ( Giro and Nyhuis) who are also likely to get opportunities during the season, depending on injuries. As a Swans fan I am hoping that Tobe Watson makes his debut at some stage.
Going through this exercise has indicated to me that the Dockers are developing quite a bit of depth that they havent had over the last 3 years and all going well they should be challenging for the finals this season.

I don’t think there’s a lot there to scare the top teams atm mike. Still, if Lyon can develop them, who knows where they’ll finish next year. They’ve got some really good prospects.

Thats the $64000 question. Lyon has the talent at his diposal and he would be expected to develop a more attacking game plan. Another 12 months of experience for the young players and they may be ready for a tilt at the top 4 and a flag in coming seasons.

Mike imo Logue and Taberener would be in their best 22 ahead of Matera and Darcy. Logue because of his versatility and Taberner based on the fact he was on fire during the first half of 2018 until injured. Matera hasn't fired a shot and Darcy is still developing and that second ruck supporting role could be filled by Lobb on game day....just my thoughts.

Thanks for that BC. Funny you should say this, I just gave my son a look at the team and his opinion was precisely what you have just said there.Great minds think alike I guess

I expect the additions of Hogan and Lobb to create a buzz of excitement among the playing group knowing they've got two or three big tall marking options up forward that will stretch opposition defenses and our small forwards should be licking their lips.

Darcy just needs a decent run at it. He's had two injury interrupted seasons thus far but he is genuine ruck quality, a different type to Sandi obviously doesn't have the height but what he lacks in height he more than makes up for with his bulky body which he uses to good effect. He's got good hands and got a good football brain.

Funny how those Fremantle supporters whining about lack of AFL chat on Ozfooty are yet to engage on a Fremantle topic of discussion.

that side should make the eight with all their home games. When you have players, such as McCarthy on the bench, the club is starting to get some depth.

Mikehs best 22 again raises the question of whether the Dockers actually are in a genuine rebuild or not, I count 17 of those 22 as being either very close to their prime, in their prime, or past their prime. I think Lyon really needs to produce results this year or his time will be up and my prediction is if that happens Justin Longmuir will be his replacement.
Luke Ryan definitely should be in that backline, he is better than Travis Colyer I would think. I don’t think Sandilands, Darcy, and Lobb could all be in the same side either.
I think Freo will need Hogan to kick 50 plus goals to climb into the 8, his foot injury must be a concern.
