Is it too early to call this trade period the most important in the clubs history? As the saying goes it never rains but it pours. I doubt anyone at Fremantle would have thought it possible to end up with both Jesse Hogan and Rory Lobb (two tall marking proven key forwards).

But they also didn't see Lachie Neale knocking on Steve Rosich's door telling him I want to be traded to Brisbane. That obviously made it possible to snare both big men. This is Fremantle's big opportunity over the next couple of years set the club up for a serious tilt at a premiership. Now we probably look a little thin in the midfield and with Mundy probably going into his last year of footy the club will need to bolster the midfield again.

Question? A lot of talk since Pavlich retired that Fyfe needs to spend more time in the forward line. Does he now just concentrate on being the dominant midfield beast he's shown he can be? Obviously he's still going to drift forward at times and kick the odd goal.

Now get the culture right at this club & it might make the bottom half of the top 8 next year.. midfield is still a worry now without Neale..

Spot on terror. Take Fyfe out through injury or whatever and you're left with a midfield of young kids and an ageing Dave Mundy. The look of their front half next year is exciting but you need an efficient midfield to get it down there. For mine, Freo are a quality mid or two away from being a contender.

A bit early with that call but it has been a promising trade period for Fremantle. With a new look forward structure next year hopefully this sees our scoring input increase. We have been in the bottom three teams for scores over the last three seasons.

I'd be playing Fyfe 70% of the time in the midfield and then when he goes forward, swaps with Walters. Walters needs to spend more time in the forward 50 with only short bursts in the midfield in my opinion.

Hopefully with the draft picks we have we are able to get Jordan Clark, Luke Valente, Luke Foley, and Luke English into the team. Maybe even take punt on Jye Bolton or Luke Meadows with our last pick 81.

With the likely departures of Mundy, Ballantyne and Sandilands at the end of 2019 this would free up probably close to $1M in salary cap space. Stephen Coniglio is a restricted free agent and Jack Martin is out of contract. Two players that I would be trying to get in at the end of next season.

Also watch out for Jeremy Sharp from East Fremantle. Made the All-Australian team this year as an under age player.

We need to see more commitment from the Hill brothers next year I think they've been coasting this year. I wish the club would get Walters knees fixed. He seems to be carrying a knee injury every year. Blakely, Langdon need to step up and we should see growth in Cerra and Brayshaw. I think Conca has his best football in front of him. His first 4 or 5 years in AFL were wrecked by injuries. Collyer adds pace. Agree with Mr A Jye Bolton or Luke Meadows would be good value.

Good point on Walters DD, Walters has had issues with that knee for a couple seasons now without having any surgeries (I think). Him and Fyfe are two of the best in the land when they are fit but both haven’t been able to stay healthy in recent seasons. A lot depends on them.
