Not saying it was a game for the archives, far from it, but a win is a win is a win.
It was a game where Fremantle should have had the game wrapped up at half time.We won our first quarter for 11 quarters, without kicking a goal. Some misses were under 15 shots on goal.
But some good signs from the young ones once again.Players like Cerra, Girro were superb in their endeavours. Banfield was once again better than average. Darcy battled manfully in the ruck, competing very well against Paddy Rider before his injury.Darcy went down late in the game with an injury, which hopefully, is not serious. He had solid back up from Scott Jones. He is a big brute of a man.He also was very useful up forward and competed well all day.
Mundy and Neale were great leaders all day.
Our back line stood up very well under pressure and Hamling , Wilson , Ryan and Pearce were superb.
Nyhuis could be in a spot of bother for his tackle on Gray. I wonder just how harshly the tribunal see the tackle. From what I have seen, it appears that Gray held onto Nyhuiss' arm during the tackle and seemed to propel himself forward. But not sure that is how the tribunal will see it.
Even some of the alleged Dockers supporters are screaming about how bad the game was and stil calling for Lyons head.I am sure there are so many who long for the older days when we were much worse than what we are now.Regardless of whether we win or lose the loose heads are calling for blood. They want the young kids dropped, they want Lyon gone.Hard to please some supporters.
A win is a win, and I would take another 6 ugly dirty wins like that for the remainder of the season.A winning culture is a good culture.

When you say old days anchor are you referring to the 200/2001 days. Who's been saying drop the younger players?

For what it is worth I still don't think he is the coach for us on this new rebuild. It's not just him, it's the recruiting that has been done since Ross has been at the club, the development of players and then the board extending Ross's contract by a further four years.

Ross wont be sacked as he still has a further two years to run on his contract and in my opinion he should have been never given that long a contract in the first place.

Fully agree. The boy slung Gray and buried him - a 2 action sling. The intention was to hurt him, there’s no doubt about that. Should be a 3 weeker, but with tribunal inconsistency, he’ll probably get a fine.

With regards to the Nyhuis tackle, here is the one from Dangerfield last year, he received 1 week. How would you compare the two.

I would expect the decision to be a minimum of 4 weeks and don't be surprised if he gets more.

As was discussed on 91.3 this morning. The high profile stars of the AFL get treated with more favour than the average player. However, I still believe the kid should get at least 3 weeks. No one will convince me that when you tackle a person like this and sling him head first into the ground that you are not trying to hurt him,,,of course you are!!! You know EXACTLY what you are doing and what the outcome will be.

I'm sure you are right the kid will get atleast 3weeks but my point earlier was the comparrison between Dangerfield and this one is the kid was maybe more forcefull but didnt pin both arms, Dangerfield did and the result was the same. Should be one week based on Dangerfields case but we know it won't be.

These things happen in split seconds. The game is played that fast. No one goes out to intentionally hurt someone 58shark. I reckon he will get anywhere between 2-4 weeks.
