We need to say good bye to Sandilands, Ballantyne, Johnson, D.Pearce (play them all in the last round together) also move on Spur, Sherridon and Sutcliffe. Not sold on Kersten either but I think he signed for 2 years.
Resign Bennell on a one year low based performance contract ( last roll of the dice with him, he has been given a million + $ just for training, hopefully get some type of return on the hefty investment)
Look at getting in Fasolo as a free agent and English from the doggies, claims he’s not happy and wants to come home. Both he and Darcy would make a pretty good ruck/forward combo
Not sure our draft position would allow us to do much more unless it includes future picks as we have pick 6 and then the next one is 76 (roughly)

I think what Fremantle needs more than anything else is a new coach with a more attacking mindset. Especially now there is a determination to open up the game to reduce congestion and see some sort of forward structure. Ross Lyon will become redundant and won't know how to adapt.

I was at the game on Sunday and the contrast between the Dockers and Brisbane couldnt have been more stark. Both young teams but Brisbane seemed to be relishing the challenge and enjoying expressing themselves via their footy. Fremantle seemed to be playing to a formula which wasnt working and they had no plan B to fall back on. The main thing I noticed though was their body language,they just didnt seem to want to be out there.

So what happened against Carlton?

Whatever happens they must try and hang on to Cerra, Brayshaw, Cox and Ryan and the other young guys who have been given some game time this season. They are part of the team that will potentially challenge for a flag in the next 5 years. To do this though they need to find a coach who will provide them with a plan which involves a more attacking mindset. Either Ross has to adapt his style or they will have to look for someone who will turn them into finals contenders.

Cerra is contracted until the end of 2019.

A/man...here's a serious question for you...do you see Lyon taking Freo to a flag or even a GF or at least finals in the next few years? If the answer is no, is it time to move him on and bring on board a development style coach to put Freo in a position to at least challenge?

There is no chance Lyon will change, the blokes full of hubris and its just not in his make up to "adapt", the clocks ticking and his bank account is looking pretty healthy.

A/man howmany Western Australian journalists would have a credibility gap in terms of the players they said were leaving Fremantle or were coming to Fremantle? It goes without saying that Kim Hag(ck)dorn should not be included in the list of journalists that have no credibility with respect to the above.

It amuses me at times when I see people commenting about Lyons style, here's a news break, all coaches have exactly the same style. Defend first attack second. The difference is the better sides have better forward lines and can put the necessary scoring pressure on to beat sides like Freo. So far Lyon has built a pretty handy backline and will try and build a good forward line to improve scoring ability.2015 Freo were minor premiers and now less than 3 years later they are in the second year of a rebuild and a big one at that. I won't mention the other AFL sides that have gone two and three times longer than this because it would be half of them. I think it is way too early to make a call on his rebuild at this stage. Why they fell off the cliff is another matter but the pressure to get our first flag may have contributed to that.
