I think Lachie is right in saying Freo would be mad not to take the Gold Coast first second round pick which could get higher in the Ablett deal. No way is GC going to give up pick 2 for Weller.

I think Weller has a vested interest in the deal being done so I wouldnt take too much notice of what he says to be honest. Freo should play hard ball here becuase he is a contracted player and he seems to have made his request late in the piece. Pick 2 does seem to be a bit of an ambit claim.

He was pick 15 mike so if Fremantle don't take any of their early second round picks they might never see it again. No guarantee making him stay another year we are going to get offered any better, possibly something less.

Jack Watts former No 1 draft pick has gone to the Power for pick 36.

Maybe GWS should do the same to Wilson who is contracted as well.
Get the best deal you can, he doesn’t want to be there.
