We do probably need another big bodied mid since this could be Mundy's last year and we cut Barlow a couple of years ago and now we've lost Weller who would have been seeing more time in the middle of the ground if he stayed and Balic gone. Wilson will be an attacking half back and I can't see why Matera can't have a run through the middle.

Too true PN....surely Freo needs to take or any side needs to take best available where ever they are from...at least if they do go home in a few years and they are half decent one may get a half decent pick or picks for them which can be used to the clubs benefit eg Adelaide with Lever and Weller for Freo. Imagine using the policy of only picking a local because of the homesick factor and they ended being average....what do you do then?...cant trade them because they are average so you just delist them....wasted effort.......best available surely outweighs going local because of the homesick factor....doesn't make sense other wise....lets just raise the draft age and hope by 20/21 the player is mentally mature to handle living interstate.

From what I've seen of the two Anchor, which isn't a huge amount because they're not from my club, but I'd take Kelly every day of the week. Kelly good on the inside and outside, important at afl level, think Schloithe does his best work in space?

Yep...agree ToOl...Kelly has more upside and not sure Schloithe has the temperament to be honest.

I wouldn't be taking either. At that stage of the draft I would be looking at some promising big forwards like Hugh Dixon from Tassy and Coleman Jones. If I did take one of the others, I guess it would be Kelly.

Good pick with Hugh Dixon JB.
I think the Dockers would be pretty happy with their crop, more depth and options in the midfield as well as 2 development ruckman and a key forward. Is that the lot for Freo or do they have a mature age draft pick left over?

Good to see them pick up a couple of ruckmen late in the draft, especially Scott Jones from EP. He's ready to go. After Sandi and Darcy we had nothing. Looks like a good balance of selections.
