According to Wikipedia the non Victorian Legends in the Australian Football Hall of Fame are... Polly Farmer, Barry Cable, Daryl Baldock, Barrie Robran.
Hadyn Bunton Snr is a Legend... 3 Brownlows and 3 Sandovers. I'm not sure whether or not he was a Victorian. I have a feeling that he was a South Australian.

Thanks a/man - the statistics speak for themselves. The VFL/AFL hall of fame legends. What a joke.

Every now and then the planets align and we agree swannie. Time for some equality - and not Fatman's 'equality'.

Probably gunna open a can of worms here...BUT to me its like in the EPL, a bloke from the championship, being in the English Footall Assocaiations Legends (if one exists)...obvioulsy they have to play in the Premier league to be recognised, no matter HOW good they are in the championship. On a nother question, were there many WAFL players who made the all austrlian team pre AFL?...not being a smartar$e....just curious??

Before the AFL began the All Australian side was named after each Australian Carnival, with many West Australian players in each one.

WA was well represented in most of them, with East Fremantle champion Jack Clarke being picked in four successive All Australian teams over an eight year span.

Sporting Life magazine invented the concept of an All-Australian Team in 1947. A squad was selected from players in various leagues in October each year by a panel chosen by the magazine. In 1953, immediately after the Australian Football Carnival, which was held in Adelaide on that occasion, an official All-Australian team was selected by representatives of the various state and territorial teams. This tradition continued until the 1988 carnival.

Concurrently, from 1982, the Victorian Football League (VFL) began to announce its own team of the year. In 1991, following the VFL's conversion to a national competition and its renaming as the Australian Football League (AFL), the two concepts were merged.

There were a significant number: the All-australian team used to be selected after each carnival. Of course a carnival was not held each year; therefore there were fewer opportunities for players to be selected in the All-Australian team. Hence the reason that Billy Walker was only AA once.

I have made a suggestion that at some time in the future that the new and brilliant WAFL Footy Facts site may be able to include a list of AA selections from each WAFL club.
